Basically the haven't got any kind of access to the internals (usernames etc), all they're doing is sending sufficient traffic such that the server is overloaded and can't respond properly.

As far as I'm aware, anyway.

Tomb Raider : Definitive Edition is down to $20 on the US PSN Store if you have a US account for cheapness

https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork. ... TOMBRAIDER

(If you dont - check back in this thread for info on how to set it up for the next offer - this works out around £12.30 for the game and its still down as £44.99 in the UK store)

On Wednesday I'm having a meeting with the man from Sony, where I'm going to be giving feedback & ideas for anything I think they could improve with their PS4/Vita business. Primarily focused on dev-centric polices etc, but I'm sure plenty of consumer facing stuff will come up too.

I think I've got most based covered in my notes already, but if there's anything you'd like to see changed, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I'd like them to make the controller more difficult to be knocked out of my hand.

I'm sure you will already have this but stability uptime of PSN is a concern (its down way more than Xbox live is) and they tend to have a monthly maintenance window which is in the UK evening which is not great.

Other minor things - the way that old PS1 and PSP titles are available in Europe only or in the US only does not really make any sense (there was also that 'glitch' a month or so ago when all PSP titles were suddenly marked as 'vita compatible' and available - why is this not just a thing already?)

Although they do have Skype on the Vita, and I *think* that was after the MS takeover. Probably had to pay a pretty penny though.

Firmware 2.0 is tomorrow

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/10/ ... 7_34477747

Quote:
Major PS4 system software update v2.0 launches tomorrow
Share Play, YouTube integration, Themes and USB Music Player are among the additions

PS4′s system software v2.0, codenamed Masamune, is making its arrival tomorrow and we can’t wait for you to check out all the new enhancements it’ll bring to your PS4. This update adds unique, forward-looking features like Share Play and addresses some of the most highly requested features from the community including YouTube integration, music player, ability to find players you may know, sorting options for PS4′s game library, and themes that change the look of your home screen. This is the biggest update we’ve delivered to date for PS4.

For a look at what you can expect, check out our walkthrough video on key Masamune features. And don’t forget to watch the walkthrough video of the Share Play feature.

Here’s a recap of some top features you can expect with Masamune:

Share Play: PlayStation 4 will create an online local co-op experience by allowing you to invite a friend to join your game – even when they don’t own a copy of it.
YouTube: A dedicated app for YouTube is coming with v2.0, along with the ability to upload gameplay highlights directly from PS4 to YouTube by clicking the ‘Share’ button on DUALSHOCK 4. Be sure to check the PlayStation Store to download the YouTube app.
Themes and colours: Personalise your home screen background with select themes and colors.
Live broadcasting enhancements: Search filters, archived broadcast support and more have been added to Live from PlayStation
Content Area and Library: Find and access your content quicker with a redesigned Content Area and improved filter and sort functions for the PS4 Library.
USB Music Player*: Insert USB memory with music in your PS4 and start playing your favourite tunes in the background.
Players you may know: Get suggestions for gamers you may know in the ‘What’s New’ section

PS Vita and PS TV update

Also available tomorrow is a new system software update (v3.35) for PS Vita and PS TV, which includes four-player Remote Play support for PS TV, as well as the Live from PlayStation app, which allows you watch game streams from PS4 on both your PS Vita and PS TV devices. A full features list and instructions for updating PS Vita and PS TV can be found here after the update goes live.

PS App update

Lastly, don’t forget to update your PlayStation App on your mobile devices to the latest version. The new 2.0 update will include a redesigned home screen, and a new layout for tablets.

This has been an amazing first year for PS4 so far, with more than 10 million units sold and a robust set of new features already added including SHAREfactory, automatic pre-download, and more. We are pleased to see the great feedback we’ve been getting from fans like you, which helps us to make PS4 the best place to play.

Let us know what you think about these new features and let’s keep the conversation going!

I think maybe your £8 headphones weren't the best purchase choice :)

If your TV has a headphone jack, you can get a BT trasmitter: http://www.amazon.co.uk/JUSTOP-BTT005-B ... B005NCZ16S

There's no guarantee that'll work with your headphones either, of course.

Just checking but you know you can plug virtually any set of headphones into the small jack on the bottom of the Dualshock4 and set all sound from the game to come out of them ?

Poor Sony financial reports today (mainly the phone division everything else is doing well including the games division) and it also included the numbers for PS4's sold up to the 30th of September

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/ps4-unit ... ome+Stream

So that puts it at 13.5 million units

Not all that useful for finding PS4 players on there though, considering it's cross-gen now.

I agree - although if your looking for scoreboard challenges a lot of them are cross gen as well (stuff like Pix or Spelunky does not care which system you play it on)

Is it worth a thread or an addition to that post with PS4 players ?

Or just a list of PS4 players (these are the ones i know of)

American Nervoso -> SilentElk
Dr Zoidberg -> Alex_Zoidberg
Mr Dave -> MrDaveXXVIII
Pundabaya -> pundy79
Saturnalian -> ianaris
zaphod79 -> Zaphod_79
Zio -> Zio360
