Ground Zero's is also down to £7.49

List of current PS4 deals : http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/11/ ... 2_35451917

I'd suggest if you have not already picked these up

Infamous Second Son for £22.49
Resogun for £4.80 (and the DLC pack for £2.60)
Rogue legacy for £3.99 (cross play so you also get it on Vita)

And if you have a Vita grab Killzone for £6.99

Has anyone here played Valiant Hearts: The Great War - its one that looked interesting and its down to £5.99

Already played Ground Zeroes to death on the PS3
Played the first Infamous and it left me cold - the new one looks like more of the same.
Already have Resogun because PS+
Already have Killzone

Haven't played Valiant Hearts but it's got good reviews and I'm a sucker for a graphic adventure. Rogue Legacy was also not on my radar - interesting.

There a demo of Valiant Hearts if you want an idea of what its like. It's really, really pretty and I'd definitely be picking it up if I had a PS4 right now.

Do you have a PS3? It's available on there too.

No, I just lied in the WongaWatch thread. It's actually £30.

I had not played an Infamous before this one - I enjoyed it and I think it was the first PS4 game I had where it really felt like something 'next gen' - its a very pretty game but its a 'play it through once' (maybe twice) and thats it ~20 seems about right for it.

New Infamous is a worse game than the prior two games, but it does have more graphics.

Seeing as the shitty TV I've got at the moment only outputs at 720p, graphics aren't really a factor for my purchasing choices at the minute.

Having played the previous two a lot but never bothering to complete the second one I didn't find that at all, I thought it was a lot better than either. I even completed it all again on the higher difficulty. The standalone DLC is coming to PS Plus in January anyway so anyone unsure might as well wait until then.

You can probably still see most of the graphics at 720p. At least half of them.

And on the PC and Xbox 360 which I also have, but I'm trying to close the last generation down so I'm not buying anything else on the prev gen consoles and moving everything I can onto my PS4 list. As of finishing Asura's Wrath I've now 'completed' the Xbox 360 and I've only got the last God of War game to do on the PS3 before I call that good as well.

Unfortunately by using the phrases 'the graphics' and 'of them', the word graphics is being used in a comedy discrete rather than contiguous sense. Ergo fewer is correct. For that comedy use of 'the graphics' only.

Especially as the underlying technically correct term under that is pixels. So ''fewer pixels' would be correct too.

This is far too serious an issue for merry jest and capers.

So, how many people have a PS4 vs. those that have a Xbox One?

6.5m vs unknown, as Microsoft refuse to release "sold through" figutes, only "sold in" as in shipped to retailers.

That was a long time back - PS4's are over 10 million - this was in August

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/18793 ... -5-million

and each month the PS4 is outselling the Xbox so widening the gap - there are some queries if the Xbox will overtake the PS4 in straight sales this month with the next set of discounts that Microsoft is adding (mainly in America)

http://news.xbox.com/2014/10/xbox-one-special-savings

So thats $349 top line for the Xbox one (instead of the $499 it started at this time last year) and thats throwing in either Sunset Overdrive or Assassins creed with the PS4 still at $399 without a game or $450 with one

Very much an estimate but the numbers and the theory behind it seems reasonable - note they are using the *best* number for the Xbox and the worst for the PS4

Ah.. I was more meaning people on the forum....
But still, I hadn't known the sales for Xbox One (Beyond the 5mil to retailers) So that's pretty cool.
Although, I thought I'd heard the PS4 was at 13.5 million?

Yeah, I can't justify picking it up again until it's sub-£20. Would do just for the online.

Can someone who is not me check whether you can do that trade for the PS3/360 version of GTAV to the upgraded PS4/XB1 version for £15?

I read it on Reddit somewhere but it might have been just for the USA.

I have; well, I completed the main missions but only did a fraction of the side stuff and didn't try the online. Unsure how much more play I'll get out of it, but the Argos deal was pretty good (console and both games for £360) so I didnt effectively pay much money for it.

In other news FC4 is fucking great.

I have some thoughts which I will now share with you, despite them being mostly the same thoughts everyone else expressed a year ago!

The good:
- it's really nice.
- omg so many pixels. I feel like maybe my last-gen eyes just can't track all the pixels. I had to move closer to my TV, sitting on a cushion in the middle of my room.
- General UI is snappy and seems logically laid out. 'Library' view in PSN Store doesn't have a million incompatible PS3 games in it, a trick the Vita hasn't yet fathomed.
- haven't tried Remote Play to the Vita yet, but I did set it up.
- I'm sure Master Race pixel peepers can decry it for insufficient hertz but it looks graphically ace to me in everything I tried. The ageing PC I have plugged into the same TV is generally only running at 720p so the PS4 has the graphical edge in my house.
- I love pretty much everything about the pad. It just feels great. Battery life could be better, although it didn't run out on me and I played quite a lot today. I have concerns about longevity and intend to buy a second pad from somewhere with flawless returns procedures.
- so many pixels

The bad:
- omg the setup process took me through about 15 screenfuls of PSN setup even though I already had a fully functioning PSN account. Wtf Sony?
- the controller light bar thing is weird. On anything other than "dim" the reflection in the TV screen is diabolical, and on "dim" it's still annoying. I really like how GTAV changes the colour to match your character and pulses blue/red when you have a wanted level -- but the shape of my controller means I can't see the light so what does that achieve? I don't even have the camera, so there's certainly no 3d tracking going on.
- GTAV and FC4 have been out for a combined span of about eight minutes yet required around 2 GB of patch downloads. And then GTAV did its "installing" thing for about twenty minutes. And I had to type in three codes across the two games for pre-order tat. This is actually more hassle than Steam, which is backwards and stuff.
- the in-dash music sounds, as my wife put it, "like background muzak in a third-rate aromatherapist." She's not wrong. The "bonk" noise when you select something sounds the same at GT5, though, which is cool.

The ugly:
- God damned honey badgers.

Aye, when using it for PC, I turn that sucker off. I believe they've by now sorted the bug that setting it to dim also kills vibration.
But as I typically have it set to full, doesn't bother me. I hold the controller in such a way that it doesn't reflect, although I do see it without the aid of reflection. (That's just the way I tend to hold it, not adapted for the lightbar. It does occasionally mean touching the touchpad with my lip mind)

Don't know why there isn't just an option to turn it off though.

A shotgun is pretty much necessary for dealing with surprise wildlife, I've found.

(And in the game!)

The 87 is wonderful once you've unlocked it. (4 Mohan Ghale journals) It's a sawn off lever action shotgun that also is a sidearm, so you can shoot it while driving, and it sits in the rubbish 'Sidearm Only' slot. (And you spin-cock it while firing it one handed!)
