Oops. I apologise to anyone distressed by reporting Bob Hoskins, since he died in 2014. That's what happens when you don't look at the date on a 'Most popular' item on the BBC news website.

I've noticed that the BBC website has started putting "this article last updated (insert date)" on the obituaries that appear in the most read section.

Some of my favourites include his portrayal of General Soong in Air America, and his excellent OTT voice-overs in the apres-pub betting show Banzai.

Ali was a massive pro-wrestling fan. He actually cribbed his persona from Gorgeous George, the legendary wrestling heel, realising that most of the people who came to watch his fights would hate him anyway, he might as well make more money by making them REALLY hate him.

I've split out the Muhammed Ali topic and now, it's left looking like I'm really upset about Kimbo Slice passing away.

Very sadly the 'celebrity' part appears to really have come about posthumously as a result of the manner of her death, but is still I guess the case.

Sorry to hear about Yelchin. He was in some bad movies now and again, but he was always enjoyable - on occasion excellent. Looks like the uncanny 'Live & Long Prosper' Star Trek blessing only applies to the TV show crews.

The flipside of that, of course, is the curve-skewing 'Curse of Babylon 5', where cast members grimly found themselves attending memorial after memorial. Show lead Michael O'Hare, Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas, Jeff Conaway, Tim Choate, Robin Sachs - all popped their clogs before the age of 65. Fortunately for Walter Koenig his Trek status insulated him from this curse.

That's a shame, although not unexpected as she's been unwell for a while now.

I remember her right back from the early 90s on the Granada 'Upfront' programme, when she did Mrs Merton before she got her own show.

The Royle Family is fantastic, I rewatched the whole thing three or four years ago.
