Terry Wogone, more like.

Shame though. He had a fantastic career though even in his early days. God bless him.

My uncle still has the adult take off of Janet and John in his car, and whenever we go out together we listen to it and roar with laughter.

An eleven month deferral? That would be astonishing. I suspect what it means instead is that they'll end up with someone very middle of the road, because that's all they'll manage to pass.

Then again, if they do wait, it could be a major win. January might see a Democrat in the White House and a Democratic senate, then they'd basically have their free pick.

One of those people I've always seen cited or quoted but whose work I've never got round to reading.

I started bloody smoking because of that bloke !

I got grounded when I was 15 and was watching TV and saw him and decided it would be a great idea to nick a few of my mum's cigs and head out into the back garden with a bowl of water, some washing up liquid and a pen (broke both ends off).

Still haven't completely kicked it either (18 mg vape).

Because of Umberto Eco?

Ok, but somewhat unexpected.

Oh, yes. I've read a couple of his books: The Name Of The Rose and Foucoult's Pendulum. I wouldn't have known he was still alive before he died. Have a read of The Name Of The Rose if you get around to it. Moider at a monestry.

But avoid Foucault's Pendulum unless you have a PhD in Grail mythology ;)

It was a cross between Dan Brown, a thesaurus, and a list of things he'd researched somewhere.

For me the beautiful prose didn't quite make up for the literary detours and overall plot. I don't regret reading it, and I appreciate his skills, but it wasn't quite for me.

*sigh* That's a great pity.

I've seen him in many documentaries over the years, and he was always an interesting chap to listen to with some amazing stories to tell.

Your man who did Father Jack in Father Ted has gone to the big vat in the sky.

Same day of the year that Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) died on.

Clearly God is vengeful, and making a point.

I watched a documentary on George Martin last night. Fascinating stuff, and I was amazed at how little he was being paid when he was working with The Beatles. It was only after they disbanded that he started earning decent money.
