Makes the senitnels look easy in those terms.

Didn't cause me many problems though. So easier than the sentinels.

Here's something to try!

The Lost Basille - bonfire from the pirate ship way. Drop the lift but run out and jump on top of the lift! SEKRIT. Nowt any good mind.

Now looking where to shove this Bastille key...

There are a few places around. The blacksmith for one ;)

Current location is giving me the heebie jeebies. I'm sure at some point it's going to become very painful indeed.

Just found another. There's a hidden door (in the room where two exploding zombies come out of a load of giant pots) (next to a grate with a lift behind it passes) that leads off at a weird angle and another hidden door about halfway along which leads out onto the ramparts. I'd been looking out from Sinner's Rise wondering how I'd get there... and now I'm there. A-Maze.

Yeah, I've opened the smiths and the door next to the bonfire that's inaccessible due to the statue. I'm just looking about for anymore...

If you want to get into the Souls games I'd probably suggest you get Dark Souls 2 for a couple of reasons:

1) It's punishing but not as difficult and cunty as Dark Souls and the even harder Demons (in my opinion)
2) It's easier to get into and opens up sooner than the earlier games with multiple paths.
3) There's people online so you can co-op or join forces for the bosses. You'll probably struggle to get anyone on the earlier games (haven't the servers been turned off for Demon's? I couldn't find anyone willing to help when I played months back). This makes all the difference if you ask me. Seasoned Souls gamers might like to trek off on their own (and you'll still have to) but if you're finding it too hard there doesn't appear to be any shortage at the moment of people who want your help or want to help you.

Overal I think it's more accessible for newbies, so whereas Dark Souls is the better game (one of the best games ever actually) Dark Souls 2 will let you see what the fuss is all about without turning you off for good in the first couple of hours.

While those points may be true, I imagine it's also considerably more expensive in the case that he doesn't like it.

Edit: I believe demons souls server is still up. But maybe rather empty. I think it was the american ones being turned off (except not in the end)

Fair nuff, if he's got them already.

Anyway, chariot dead, skelebones dead, found the poisony area, pressed x against a load of walls and fell off stuff in the Gutter. That's progress.

But where'd you find all the large titanite? I've barely seen the stuff. Mind you, I'd found a lightning stone which sounds good but I've not found enough large titanite so I can rub it against some steel.

And then some bloke came into my game and did some lightning magic thing that was awesome and so I've spent all my boss souls to pour more stats into faith so I can have a go at whatever spell he was using (I'm sure it was faith spell).

Also, where's the fiery hand? Have I missed how to use the pyromancy spells?

Lightning stone & large titanite -
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
you don't need to level it up first to lightningify it, but you do need an ember. Can't remember where you get it from I think it's the end area of the skelton lord/poison path, but that's a little way off yet. Once you give it to the blacksmith, he'll sell ten large titanite. There are enemies who'll drop it, but I can't remember which.

Firey hand -

go back to the ship. It's in a chest after the boss fight.

I've not come across any slow down this time either. Nowt at all. Although, thinking about it, I've not seen anything like Blightown with that massive area in it. Perhaps The Gutter (which I must have mined in full now) has a large size but the darkness hides most of it away.

Listed as 71:14:14, including time spent after completion (i.e. the time between my message and now.

But I certainly spent hours waiting sitting at bonfires while doing something else, so it's not all that accurate anyway.

It doesn't launch you immediately into NG+, so mopping up a few things. Just as well as I wasn't really expecting it to end at that point. In hindsight, I may have been attaching too much importance to something superfluous.

Then I may look to see how much I missed along the way.

Yup. T'is the only place I ever got invaded too, having spent (what seemed like) hours breaking all the statues that only respawn if you die. I didn't survive. All the statues came back.

There is a bonfire near the fog door though, so you only have to get there once.

Those spitting statues were (and remain irritating). I couldn't manage the boss yet as he wouldn't give me room to sup from my pimp cup so I went down stairs and gave it to the two giants and met the old man who talks about the dark. I thought he might want me to join a covenant but he just kept rambling. Must be something here...

He is a covenant guy, but you have to find him in multiple places. You've found the most obscure one.

That he does. I have yet to find out what the covenant reward is. You pay 1 effigy to go into a dark dungeon. My first attempt ended about 2 seconds later when I walked off the edge of a cliff in the dark.

Chaos Storm = Super excellent. On one of the final bosses, went and stood under him, used it twice and that was it.

It's also a massive pain in the arse to get.

Branches only occur singularly. Most likel place is harvest valley (Is where I got my first two)

Y'know the hairy bollock people? Those guys near the first statue woman. I looked away for a moment and they swarmed in with one of those pissing frogs from Dark Souls. I hate those bloody frogs. Anyway, I didn't want to accidentally stab the woman I'd just rescued so I got backed into a corner and they messed me up good.

I've noticed that if you smash up a chest you lose the contents. Obviously "I" wouldn't smash one up but it's not fun getting collared while you're faffing around and "accidentally" smashing the chest into splinters.

I did. I've absolutely no idea what, if any, functional difference the change actually makes to your game but it is a very funny idea. Would you like a hint?

I accidentally got an enemy to smash a chest while aiding someone else in coop. I felt rather guilty.

Youll encounter more frogs and croglike, but they petrify rather than curse this time round. quite what this entails I dont know as it never happened to me. although from one of the rings i guess a death where you don't drop souls. curse status is fortunately much more benign than in dark souls.

which is good as you will be cursed, multiple times.

There is a visual difference under certain circumstances but I don't think you'll be able to notice it as you are. I'm almost 100% sure from Googling it that the change makes no gameplay difference in the slightest though if that helps.

So, I'm now trying to complete one of the optional bosses, which pretty much gives a one hit kill, so making do with my ugly naked green terribly butch and unmoustached woman character, ring of blades +1, cloranthy ring +1, third dragon ring and a red tearstone ring for extra damage when low on health.

Midway through the fight some bugger rates my message putting me out of the red tearstones extra damage rating meaning I couldn't do enough damage before being pushed into an unfavourable position and YOU DIED. Damn horse ode.

Although it is pleasing to have a message with ~50 ratings. Not a single message of mine got rated in the original.

Done my first primeval bonfire down in the Gulch. Kicked the bosses ass with my fiery fist.

So I had a look in the poison area and made it to the first boss. He looked to be so very easy until I got stuck in a corner and he just sat there and the fat shit smashed me to pieces. I had a look around after that and got in some rucks: 4 slashy blade guys, two elephant backed guys, MC Hammer guys and so on. Made a bit of progress but I couldn't help wonder whether if get something to go into the poison eventually.

Anyhoo, I sat in the coffin boat again. And again. And again. I'll be damned if I can figure it out.

And lastly I'd picked up another of those branches and tried to revive the giant in the valley. Nope. But then I spotted a fall and got some awesome Drangleic armour that is better than anything I've picked up so far! Right there at the beginning.

Oh, and I'd tried the door near the Giant boss which I still can't open but must lead into the room on fire...

I've been looking about to see if I've missed anything. I can't open the door downstairs in the room with the four massive crossbow traps. I did find a secret room in the area next to it where you initially got locked in but it didn't lead anywhere.

Best of all though, in the same area, was when I made "that" jump above the metal turtle with the hammer (filled with explosive barrels) (the room where those gits fire arrows at you). It "is" possible. It "is" not worth it.
