This is where I draw the line. Teaser trailers = ok. Lengthy gameplay vids = no tar. You can't undo what your eyes have seen.

Started playing this yesterday after buying it on the steam sales. It's kinda bizarre, isn't it?

It had the low profile look of an European game, and also the understated simplicity of one. Yet it has all the meta-gaming craziness of a Japanese game.

I wasn't getting along with it until i changed to kb+m controls. What's with all the critics saying that some games don't play well with it?
Same happened to me with the new XCOM.

Anyways, i killed the shopkeeper by accident, and i don't know how screwed i am.

Assuming you're talking about DS1,

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
If this is the shopkeeper in the first bits of Undead Burg, not particularly screwed. You get a lovely dex sword out of it, just makes it a proper pain in the bum to get hold of arrows and the like for a while.

Well, it's kind of a bummer because i usually favor bows in combat.

Sorry for the out of context posts, i will keep posting on the DS1 forum.

It's where you register for the closed beta to keep the likes of you out.

So you are registered? Or aren't you? You don't seem very sure, which isn't a good sign.

But what if it's stuff that won't make the actual game - and you haven't registered and miss out!? I'm going to register (if I can) just in case.

There should be more Demon's Soul talk though! I'm bloody stuck on my +1 play through getting smashed in all levels! No, hang on, I eventually finished the dungeon level but I'm making zero progress elsewhere. I forget what order the levels were meant to be attempted apart from the dungeon one was best tackled first.

I don't remember finding the +1 play much harder than the initial one.

Aside from the skelington basts in world 4, although that may have been +2.

It certainly seems much harder or maybe it's because I haven't played it in a wee while. What order do you tackle the worlds?

With my character & game situation, the following order was probably the easiest:
1-1.
2-1, 2-2, 2-3
4-1 (Utilising the short cut, else it would be right at the end)
1-2
3-1,3-2,3-3
1-3,1-4
5-1,5-2,5-3
4-2,4-3.

The order is somewhat explained by all worlds being pure white tendency bar world 4 which was pure black. Also, possiblly, why I found it easier.

I've got neutral WT and I'm lumbering about in full on Tank Mode. I'm struggling to get to fire face on world 2, even a sodding miner killed me earlier, and I'm still a bit bloody confused by the stats. I never did 'get' that about Dark Souls. I just swapped the weapons around until I got the weapon that hit the hardest by endless selection rather than a considered choice.

Heavy armour didnt really work so well - Nothing quite as effective as havels ring.

Needed a fair range of weappns as there wasn't a weappn that worked for all situations.

I can't let them get away with the line "possibly the most polished combat system in gaming today" (talking about Dark Souls 1), though - are they serious?

It was alright, but it was hardly sophisticated. I much prefer the fights in Sleeping Dogs.

The article said polished. It ain't like Street Fighter 3: Third Strike but there's a strange quality about it that's more like fencing with an opponent rather than wading in, breaking their nose, snapping their leg and performing a QTE finisher. It's more about waiting for an opening, timing your strikes, keeping your guard up and perfect timing a parry like Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.

I got very bored of facing Skellingtons and the like where you just sit there until they do a stupid attack, and then smack them one.

So much of it was tediously waiting for the right point in their pattern to hit them.

Only 2-odd months till it's oot, people who like games! Now with added easy mode for big girl's blouses. Actually I haven't heard much about that at all thinking about it, so maybe not. But maybe yes. But not. But yes! Or not.
