he should make up his mind. Unless he is a legendary robot, then he;d be super cool.

Also who's being congratulated in the first post? I didn't understand who was being spoken to. Will Smith?

This was split from the 'War of the Worlds: A Critique' thread after it descended into I Am Legend spoilers.

Edit - So to actually answer the question - Nervous Pete

Six gunnin' this FTFY.

I really liked that film. It was excellent nonsense, with Mr Branananananagh hamming it up wonderfully as Mr Bad Person. Criminally underrated.

Now, BB2 and MIB2 - bleurgh.

I meant to say earlier that he was excellent in Ali. That was when he first started showing some really significant range, too. I kept forgetting it was Will Smith when I watched that (two days before I chucked my first girlfriends, uncomfortable personal life reference fans!), which is a very good sign.

I'm glad 6 degrees was mentioned, I think I'd seen in Fresh Prince and then Bad Boys, heard his songs and then watched 6 degrees. I was absolutely amazed at how well he could act in a serious role.

I've always liked him, and like his nonsense films as well as his more serious ones. Ali also being a standout example.

Coincidently I watched I am Legend 2 nights ago. I thought he was pretty good in that too. I've not seen the original film/book/ending/comic whatever so have nothing to compare it to, but it did seem a bit rushed.

I think consensus is that he was very good in the role. The only debate comes with the translation of the book to the film

Late to the topic as always, but really, a girl?

Mind, I'm still having trouble knowing Snoop from The Wire is a girl.

It took us AGES to work that one out. We only managed to do it coz Chris kept on saying "she" and "her".

She does have one of the best voices ever. The opening scene to Season Four is comedy gold.

Oh, ye gods, on the Vat of Fat/As The Tide Consumes tour we had a lifesize cutout of that picture. There are many photos somewhere of Will Smith grinning at a bunch of tired, drunk, bearded doom idiots. I'll see if I can get hold of them, there's a great pic of us all in a street in Coventry; it looks like Will is a part of our grimm little gang.

Really? To me, Snoop looked and sounded like an under-developed young lad who's spent his whole life smoking pot.

Her (his!) voice is ace though. I do like that character.

Also, amusingly enough, played by a real-life convicted gang-banging moiderer.

Ah, so she was. Excellent. But crikey - being sent away for 8 years at 14 years old 8)

Also, she was born prematurely (at 3lbs) to druggie parents. That explains a few things.

After it's over, make sure you look up the far superior 'alternate ending' to quell the rage you'll undoubtedly feel.

Well done, mate, interesting stuff.

I too was disappointed to see it set in contemporary New York (like far too many films these days) but, well, tis Hollywood. My dream version would be set around 1914... so we could have the Royal Flying Corps being set alight by the Heat-ray, while little trucks with machineguns race around on the ground firing ineffectually up that the tripods. But there we go.

I thought it was shit.

Seriously, there's only one 'good bit' in the film and that lasts for about 20 seconds, the rest is a waste of 2 hours of your life.

I always liked how the electrical storms broke all the electrical equipment, cars and watches, except for the guy's camcorder, and later the film crew's cameras. Maybe the aliens just wanted to appear on television in case any talent scouts were watching.
