That's the one. It put a photo of me in the game, which was cool. It also said "Enemy up ahead" or "enemy behind you" constantly - it simply didn't stop.

Does anybody want my WiiU Premium pre-order? I got it for £200 plus delivery. That's £100 cheaper. I'm gonna cancel it otherwise. Conditions: You'd have to give me the money before release day and pay for me to ship it to you.

Otherwise I'm just gonna cancel it.

I was! I just don't have the wedge to do get one anymore. Plus I'm not quite as excited about it as I thought I'd be by now. I could "afford" to buy it, but life would be a bit easier with Christmas coming up if I didn't. That combined with feeling less excited about it made me decide not to bother... If you get me? :p

Well my Wii U Premium has been despatched :) It even gives a delivery estimate for tomorrow which I don't believe at all.

Over the last few weeks I've picked up a couple more Wii remotes and motion plus attachments so I've got all the controllers I need now.

I've picked out a spot where I can move my 3DS charging cradle to so I can place the gamepad charging cradle in it's place. I might move it tonight

Thinking I will also get Nano Assault Neo from the eshop if it's out, unsure on Little Inferno though. Depends on the price I think. Stupid Nintendo hasn't released any details on the eshop at all.

Other than that though, I AM READY!

There's only me around, but the single player Nintendo Land stuff is pretty great. Not £300 great, but it shows the potential for what the controller can do quite well, and seeing games with that Nintendo visual charm at 1080p lovely.

The system menu and set up process was surprisingly slick, and the way the controller acts as a remote for your telly is fantastic.

The screen on the controller looks great, and after spending a couple of hours on it, the batter meter was still at full.

Very pleased with it for £200, and can't wait for Mario to get here. I love Mario games.

I'm not buying COD. I've only got Nintendo Land, and Mario on the way. Played the FIFA demo, which was pretty shockingly bad. Although I don't like FIFA.

Post subject:  Re: Wii-U

The more I read about the launch line-up of games the less and less bothered I am about the Wii-U at the minute.

An update of the rubbish Wii Mario? Nah.

Nintendoland, a collect of party games? Fuck that.

CoDBlops, when I've/everyone has got the definitive version? Waste of a line-up game.

Ass Creek 3? Nope.

The only game I'm half interested in is ZombiU and that's only just peaking above average reviews. After the launch there's a couple of interesting games but a couple of games ain't going to make me bite the bullet yet.

Oh, and Ninja Gaiden 3? Fooooork off.

Post subject:  Re: Wii-U

Nintendo Land is far better than you'd think, but it's main attractions are very 'Bomberman' i.e. not all that gripping in one or two player modes. However, get three or more people round the TV, and it's buckets of fun and hours just fly past.

The console's Miiverse system is charming and brilliant in equal measures as well. It's just short of being a killer app in many ways. I guarantee you that Nintendo's competitors will mercilessly rip it off before too long.

Agreed on that, I think MS & Sony will both definitely respond to the Gamepad screen, and Miiverse.

Darksiders 2 visibly worse on the Wii-U than either the 360 or PS3.

And so another Wii U launch title arrives that doesn't quite hold its own against the existing PS3 and 360 versions. After the fairly impressive work done on the Wii U port of Assassin's Creed 3, we can't help but feel a little disappointed with Vigil Games' efforts here. The removal of light shafts and environmental detail doesn't overly harm the game considering that the core artwork is a close match in other areas, but the sharp drops in performance are hard to ignore when the low frame-rate has a noticeable impact on the feel of the controls, making them heavier and less responsive.

People shouldn't be buying a WiiU to play games like that anyway. Everyone knows that Nintendo are going to be the best at getting the most out of the WiiU and controller.

Post subject:  Re: Wii-U

I don't think any Wii U owner is under the illusion that their new console is any kind of powerhouse. The most recent technologically 'competitive' Nintendo hardware was the GameCube, and that was hardly massively more powerful than the then-dominant PS2. Disappointing to hear about third party games though, perhaps it was due to relatively short development times for the ports, or something.

Trine 2 visibly better on the Wii U than either the Xbox 360 or PS3.

The game not only features many of the graphical upgrades found on the PC, but does so while delivering better image quality than the 360 and PS3 without compromising on the solid frame-rate.

Also by playing just on the gamepad you can save even more by not having the telly on.

So far the only thing that has annoyed me with the Wii U is with Nintendoland and how it forces you to play some single player games just on the game pad. F-zero is played mostly in a 2d top down perspective. Boring.

Otherwise, all groovy. I can understand why someone who already has an Xbox or PlayStation would be disinterested. But with more indie downloads and Nintendo games coming there is more than enough to keep me interested.
