Because implying that Jeremy Clarkson is culturally representative of the British people would be to announce to the entire world that we're all cunts?

That was NBC's website, though there only appears to be screenshots passed around, rather than links to the story before it was changed, do whether it was true or not isn't that apparent.

Post subject:  Re: Bits and Bobs 36

I was in work today as part of a new scheme where everyone takes it in turn to go in and do something frankly un-needed on a Sunday (un-needed as it has always been done on a friday before). This involves me doing something that I have had literally zero contact with or knowledge before, but we'd apparently be provided with full training, etc.

I was told by one of the managers that she'd be in to teach me the ropes and walk me through training today, my first weekend day.

So in I go, and she isn't there. And not answering the phone. A bit of a bad thing in that it would have drastic, drastic repercussions on the business if not done.

I ended up managing to get in touch with one of the other girls who does this task on a day-to-day business.

It's easy, and she walked me through it on the phone, but there is literally no way f guessing how or where it should be done on the system without some kind of pre-warning or training.

The manager who should have been there, when I later got in touch, said that my manager had told her not to bother coming in to support me. though neither my manager nor the manager that should have been there told me this so that I might be able to get the training before hand.

Tired and fed up. Need hugs.

Briefly:

Shoulder still hurts.
Went to Bradford and watched 'Something from nothing' which is a documentary about hip hop.
There were 28 other people in the 100 seater cinema.
Ice-T wasn't great at ding interviews, for most of the time, it was a slightly pudgy middle aged man in poorly chosen polo shirts.

Standouts were:

Eminem seems to be a really interesting person (very intense, but clearly very clever), as is KRS-1 (He was the stand out guy, for sheer enthusiasm) and Snoop Dog was brilliant (he's clearly incredibly clever, but has that streak of madness ("To write I need a load of weed, some tunes on to listen to to insoire me, and a couple of women to look at").

I'd recommend seeing it, but it could be a bit shorter. That, and it felt like a bunch of Grauniad readers undergoing "diversity training" or something. t made me slightly uncomfortable. Probably my neauosise rather than anyone elses.

Shoulder still hurts loads. Ging to have to do exercises to strengthen it, and avoid the niggling injuries.

Email this morning from out comms department:

Quote:
Action scenes for an upcoming feature film are being shot in Cadogan Street from 29 August and 5 September 2012 between the hours of 7.00pm to 6.00am. As a consequence there is likely to be a road closure for this period, along the length of Cadogan Street from Atlantic Chambers to the junction with Douglas Street.

It then links to the attached press release from the producers of Fast and Furious 6 which promises "high-speed car chases, crashes, controlled explosions, car flips and intermittent gunfire" in the streets of Glasgow. Excellent! I don't mean the film will be excellent as it'll obviously be horrendous shite, but having gunfire and explosions around the place is always good.

Now I've got to put the house back together and get ready to walk to work tomorrow. In the rain. Sans raincoat, umbrellas or headphones as they are all in the Ka she has. And I need to find out where the washing machine is in this house as I've no shirts.

I'm used to having people to do that for me.

Luckily, as I'm really clever, I realised that with non biological washing powder, one can wash everything at 100 degrees, thus cutting down the time it takes to make things clean.

I do it on the way home frequently. They never give me a carrier bag for it voluntarily, and I always ask for one as they're plain black and it makes you look like a complete lost cause. Which is why I ask.

Went hiking with my friends around the Ridgeway today. It's famous for the large and stylised white horse chalked into the cliff a few thousand years before Picasso made abstract art famous.

We were walking down the slope talking about other chalk monuments, when my friend casually said that the horse didn't look as lifelike as 'that giant cock'.

I turned to where he was pointing, and down in the wheatfield below us, some pranksters aliens had made a large male organ in the wheat instead of the usual circle.
