Yeah - same as regular ones, except the yolk is a disgusting green colour. Might explain why some places over here have a shit ton of them left after Halloween.

Well, Zioette stayed over and brilliantly managed to sleep through the whole night. This is only the 3rd time she's stayed at my new place and the last 2 times involved her waking up every few minutes, but I guess she just needed to get used to the new environment. Despite this, the missus still complained about having rubbish sleep that night because she kept waking up expecting Zioette to be crying. Gnnnggghhh!

Anyway, she buggered off to work, so myself and Zioette got up and ready, had a bit of breakfast whilst watching Cbeebies. Then the missus came home (she only does half days when she works on a Saturday), but she was tired and wanted to go back to bed - though not before picking up the TV remote and turning off Cbeebies, instead putting on a repeat of 'One Born Every Minute', which I wasn't sure was completely appropriate for a 3 year old.

So instead I took Zioette out to a local softplay place and the pair of us had a great little day out. We ended the day with a quick trip to my parents (my dad gets all pissy if he doesn't get to see his grandaughter at the weekends), then back home to mummy.

So at least there was that. I am going to have to have a proper chat with the gf though, I can see that. Her very obvious lack of time or patience for my daughter is starting to piss me off beyond all measure.

Oh, and my fucking PS3 died on Sunday.

Well, a bit. But in the interest of balance, not everybody wants to look after somebody else's kid. That said, you have to assume she knew what she was getting into....

I agree, other people's kids are a nightmare, but she didn't go into this blind. It's not every night and she needs to allow for the poor kid to adjust.

Unless she *really* wants to be the wicked stepmother.

I think that's it, you know. Right from the very get-go she's known I have a daughter and that the two of us come as a package deal. Myself and Zioette's mum (the 'Donna' that TK-421 seems to think I should be trying to get back together with) have decided that we're going to change the way weekends work in the new year, so whilst currently I see Zioette every weekend (Fri-Sat one week, Sun the following week), we'll instead do complete one-on, one-off weekends. So, ie, week 1 Zioette will stay the whole weekend with me, then on week 2 she'll stay with her mother all weekend and so on. I'm hoping that will help things as there'll then be a weekend off every other week.

Frustratingly, my previous ex, who I had so many problems with and went so emo over when we broke up, used to love spending time with Zioette. It was one of the few elements of the relationship that wasn't really a problem.

The other thing is, I'm not really all that keen on kids and I'm pretty sure I'd never have chosen to be a father, but all the same I make an extra special effort whenever we visit the kiddies in the gf's family, because, y' know, it's her family. And it would make me kind of a dick if I didn't. I just wish my apparently pro-children girlfriend would do the same for me, really.

Well, yeah, quite. That, of course, is also a big issue for me, because my existing daughter would need to be treated equally with any children we were to have ourselves and right now I can't see that ever happening.

Funnily enough, I remember my girlfriend telling me when we first started dating about her own stepmum giving her a massive lecture on the need to be accepting of my daughter if she wanted our relationship to work.

Anyway, I'm being emo about this now, so I'll stop. I just wanted to vent my frustration du jour.

That does sound very frustrating Zio but maybe the week on/week off thing will help? At least she'll get every other weekend to just you two.

That's a large part of the idea. Plus it will make planning our weekends a lot easier.

In a way, this has all at least caused me to be a lot more hands-on with Zioette and ensure we get more father/daughter time, so that's all been pretty good. I actually had a great time at softplay with her on Saturday - we took on the helter skelter there this weekend, something Zioette's always been terrified of before. Couldn't get her off it by the end of the day - quite a proud moment!

Huh. Occupy, in their single goaled determination, have thought about a plan to use donations to get money to buy debt from things and then cancel it, resetting everyone back to zero.

Probably, although actually finding your own debt might be hard - I'd guess it'd get sold in packages rather than single debts at a time.

Maybe some sort of co-operative debt society thingy might work. Pay us 100 quid, we'll buy loads of debt in anonymous chunks and we'll cancel yours if it's in it, otherwise we'll sell it on again.

Just booked up a small cottage for New Year week in bonnie Scotland (Caithness), for me, Mrs C, and my faithful Rottie of course.

Can't wait; I love Scotland/the Scots. :)

It's only really worthwhile if it's been classified as bad debt and sold off for cheepz.

This is the same Occupy who had a shit fit about the banks creating money out of thin air, right?

"The next time a systemic crisis breaks, central banks can rescue the banking system by once again buying the delinquent loans – and then cancel them or reduce the amount borrowers owe. Central banks, with their unlimited capacity to print money, have the power to do this at no cost to the taxpayer."

Hmmm...

Also, buying debt with donated funds, paying it off and then wanting the cancelled debt person to donate some of their cancelled debt? Sounds remarkably similar to a Ponzi scheme to me, if in reverse.

I've a feeling that in the states canceling debt might incur a tax liability, presumably to stop companies paying their staff by offering and then writing off loans. I wonder if you'll get people going from owing done collection agency to owing the tax man.

The idea seems to be to buy debt at a massive discount and then hope enough of the distressed debtors are thankful enough to recoup 15% of the total debt (assuming that's a sensible number for what debt sells at, which it is, I think).

Downsides are that:

1) They're distressed debtors for a reason. If they had the money and were willing to pay even 15% of it, they might just work out a payment plan?

2) It brazenly encourages risk-taking beyond what people would consider acceptable, and reduces personal responsibility. I'd love my personal massive debts to vanish, but it'd be a bit harsh on someone who earned the same as me but had been sensible with the money.

I see our old friend Abu continues to use the courts (with our money) to his advantage; yet another twist in a decade-long legal gravy train. The lawyers must think he's more akin to Santa Claus than anything else.

Why can't we do *anything* in this hand-tied, confounded, utterly useless committee talking shop of a country anymore? Put the twat on a one-way plane and have done with. "Oops, sorry, didn't realise he had a 20th appeal, I just thought it was OK to handcuff him on that Ryanair flight that left 4 hours ago, my mistake!"

I was trying to work out what to do for my birthday next month, and I'm not sure I can come up with something better than this (at least in the absence of Legoland).

Happy birthday, chap!

I really need a 9-5 job, this is just getting silly now.

Curio, I hope you all feel better soon.

Zio, talk to her. If she had a problem with Zioette she should have done the right thing and said so before you moved in together. Hope it works out okay though.

Someone needs to get him Walter White's phone number.
