Tomorrow I have to average 12mph to get to Dunkirk on time. Seems bold for Pinot let alone me.

So, that's oK, then

Quote:
Lizzie Armitstead did not challenge a missed drugs test from 2015 until she faced an 11th-hour ban from the Olympics for missing three controls, UK’s anti-doping federation said.

Drug testers from UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) could not find the world road race champion on three occasions during the last year, resulting in an automatic suspension from the sport pending an independent review into whether she had violated doping rules.

To be fair, on the third occasion they went to a different place to where she said she would be and they should never have called it a fail. Still think 2 prior failed attempts isn't ideal however.

That was the first occasion. She was fine with the other two.

Still, she's not Russian, so it's all okay!

It's strange how many people with acute asthma take up cycling, you'd think they would want to do something a bit less taxing on the lungs.

It forms beautiful stories, and narratives are driven by suffering, disappointments and Thrilling Heroics. Possibly none more so than Jack Bauer's in 2014 where he was in tne breakaway for 200km and lost in the final 50m. It was heart wrenching. He cried, a lot .

Brailsford went round giving talks and lectures to businesses about how he achieved the success and was also knighted for it. So it's obviously going to be a pretty big story if the secret of his success not so much marginal gains but fairly large gains from doping or whatever.

The TdF has lost a lot of style and panache since teams are to hire GC contenders and use them as domestiques, burning through them to lift the main man.

Pantani died years ago, and I was VeRY SAd and I Still Am. Here he is, sitting down in protest at drugs testing in 1998.

I would recommend the film in netflix about him, and the book.
