TdF:

1) Contactor - Looked imperious in Italy
2) Nibali - I think he was sandbag ginger
3) Pinot - I think he is developing well and he might be on with a real shout in 2016

Quinraina and Froome will fight over 4th.

Cav will win 5 stages including Paris.

In fairness, MaliA, he did get stuck pushing 53x11 and you never see that for a second.

True, but Tony Martin just grabbed his team mate's bike and carried on. Like a boss. And won. Thrilling heroics ahead, for sure.

I liked the BBC commentary where they noted that Martin has brakes set up on the opposite handlebars to the guy whose bike he took.

There was some potential comedy right there if he hadn't remembered he was on a loaner!

I think the debate about Froome is openI g up not due to his performance, but the seeming lack of form for Nibbles et al. It has been decidedly one sided, but mainly due to their lack of performance.

The French Press is not taking this very well, at all

I think Froome won by his rivals not doing so well. Contador looked tired, Nibbles rode himself into form it seemed and Quinraina looked to gamble in the alps. Sky had a superb race to control yellow, and there were some phenomenal stages. Saturday's stage was amazing, proper Alpine clashes from the big 4.

I think that this era will not see a Giro/Tour double, but a Tour/Vuelta double is more like. Where this leaves the Giro I don't know.

The view is he came from nowhere and his results up to a point did not suggest a grand tour winning rider. However, unbeknownst to him, he was suffering g from a blood parasite for many years. Post treatment he is 100% clear. He is also a good climber to take time away from rivals and a just good enough time trialler to not lose too much. The other problem is ge rides for Sky who are not well liked for being professional and shaking up the order. Sky have exclent control of peleton pace and ride well as a group up hills. This has led to some sayimg rhey ate automotons slaved to their power meters (tells rider how mych power he is currently producing, useful for when gyagomg effort). He is also a bit bland which does not help as he lacks style and panache* which is very important.

The drugs insinuations annoy me when you have Astana in the field.

*Jensie is a good example of this, into almost every break he can get into, rarely wins. Pantani with is bandana and earring which he would theatrically throw away at the bottom of climbs and his in the drops style. Voekler, too. And Millar.

2012 drug test stats from UCI and ITC:

Cycling 14,168
Tennis 2,185

EDIT:
bbc wrote:
Figures for last year show tennis carried out 2,185 urine and blood tests in 2012. Of those, 124 of these were in-competition blood tests.

According to World Anti-Doping Agency's 2010 statistics, tennis carried out 3,638 tests in 2010, compared with 21,427 in cycling, 25,013 in athletics and 13,138 in swimming in the same year.

edit2: Sadly, the really odd decisoin in Operation Puerto to destroy all the files (whichv amde no sense whatsoever and only made it look really, really suspicious) means we will never know the extent of doping in the blue riband sports.

Indeed, quite an impressive victory.. brit beating germans on omaha beach...

wanted to let Cav out of my tour squad in the game i'm playing, but now i'm putting him back in!!

(if someone wants to join in.. you pick a ten men squad, and ten reserves.. important is the sequence you put them.. 9like i now putgrepel second, if he get second, i get 10 pints, if he become 1st or 3rd i get 9ponts), one squad leader gets double points, and stage you can choose for double points, reserve squad enters at the spot the injured cyclist had.. 10euros entry

Contador's crash on saturday looked pretty hard. He's a fair bit down on time, too. He'll get 3rd at a push. I think Porte will struggle to get top 5. Pinot is 25 seconds behind and will get at least second.
