That's what I thought Froome had when he was in that descending position.

Quote:
One issue was decided, however: Thibaut Pinot’s attempt to become the first Frenchman to win the Tour since Bernard Hinault in 1985 has come to an abrupt end. Having lost three minutes on Friday at Lac de Payolle, Pinot was visibly off form and opted to self-immolate in the midday sun rather than go gently. He valiantly led the race over the Tourmalet and the Hourquette, with Sky keeping tabs on him at a distance after which he was reeled in and emphatically dumped.

Yesterday's move by Froome to go with Sagan was absolutely amazing. Superb call. I thought Thomas was going to be dropped, too. I think Sagan did a double take when he glanced over to see a yellow clad rider by him, then again when Froome said they'd work together.

I think Froome has played this very well, on the assumption that he has enough left to follow any break on Ventoux. The time trial afterwards could be key, and is usually where he excels.

Yes. He's appeared to try and snatch seconds here and there. Quite why Nairo was not at the front and so isolated is Valverde's guess

I wonder if Froome had got the message that the top of Ventoux was off today, so he realised that making the break would have limited impact on today and hoped (correctly) that Quintana didn't get the memo.

So, that's oK, then

Quote:
Lizzie Armitstead did not challenge a missed drugs test from 2015 until she faced an 11th-hour ban from the Olympics for missing three controls, UK’s anti-doping federation said.

Drug testers from UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) could not find the world road race champion on three occasions during the last year, resulting in an automatic suspension from the sport pending an independent review into whether she had violated doping rules.

To be fair, on the third occasion they went to a different place to where she said she would be and they should never have called it a fail. Still think 2 prior failed attempts isn't ideal however.

That was the first occasion. She was fine with the other two.

Still, she's not Russian, so it's all okay!
