If Pinot tried to break a cycle he'd manage to fuck it up somehow.

Guys, today's stage ends with 26km of downhill. This is going to end well.

Man , you gotta love dumoulin's performance yesterday.. responding to quintana, staying cool, and then just losing everybody, and winning the sprint..

After 80 hours, Pinot is 96 seconds down on Domoulin, who wasn't impressed with Nibali and Quintana not working with him.

Thrilling Heroics beckons, today.

Plagiarists!

All pinot has to do now is ride 29.3km a minute faster than a really good time triallist.

Well rested from T'Giro, Pinot sets his Thrilling Heroics to MAX for Saturday's start of the TdF in a 14km jaunt around, um, Düsseldorf.

SCANDAL!

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/ ... ks-cycling

Quote:
The Tour de France organisers will contact Jan Bakelants’ AG2R La Mondiale team to ask him to apologise after the Belgian rider was reported to have made derogatory comments about the race’s ‘podium girls’ in an interview with the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

Asked what he would take with him for his free moments during the Tour, the former wearer of the yellow jersey in the event allegedly said: “A packet of condoms, for sure. You never know where those podium [hostesses] hang out.”

Yes, great comment by bakelants..

meanwhile our scandal is that sun web changed the national jersey in a team jersey...

and question: on twitter they seem to translate domestique/gregario as 'knight' , which is a of different feeling ..

can old @LeTour winner @albertocontador make his comeback this year? he is now cycling for @TrekSegafredo #TDF17 #TourdeFrance #contador https://twitter.com/Blikvanger_/status/ ... 64/photo/1

Indeed, but also by Froome, who has already some distance between him and the competition

Pinot is almost 4 munutes down. He might be allowed into breaks, now, to go for stage wins.

Was that just off the time trial or did he somehow inexplicably fall off the back of the peloton?

What? You want researched posts, now?

50 seconds down on stage 1, which is odd, as he's pretty handy at TT, same time as winner stage 2, and over 3 minutes down yesterday. Behind Greipel!

I shall ask, as the answer will be in my missive, later.

Are the heroics more thrilling if he wins the Tour from so far back?

According to French Eurosport, it's all part of the plan to chase stage victories, and there doesn't seem to be a plan to place in GC.

To explain: often, a group of riders will try and break sway from the peleton. The peleton will decide to let them go, or pull them back in really quickly. Then, another break may form, until one is allowed to stick. The peleton might not let certain riders get away, as they pose a risk to the GC ambitions of several riders not in the break (or for other reasons, such as the Armstrong and Simeone incident*). Once a break is established, the peleton, being able to move more efficiently, will let them get ahead, but want to keep them in catching disyance for a finish. Sometimes, tje break survives, which os tne BEST THING EVER, but often they get caught between 1km and 20km from the line. Or 200m, like Jack Bauer, which was both racing at its finest, yet cruellest. So, Pinot, being 4 minutes down, might be allowed to go off on a jolly, as he won't threaten Froome et al.
