I rejoined the gym yesterday. Sitting next to the unending pile of biscuits in the office isn't exactly helping me.

600 cal a day for two days. Not eating much, but it isn't completely avoiding food.

And it isn't 2 days consecutively, it's 2 days out of 7, but they can be any days you want.

Yesterday and tomorrow work for me.

I'm assuming you were being chased by a Vicar, who was being chased by a lady in a bridal gown, who was being chased by a surgeon in scrubs, who was being chased by a bunch of women in bikinis, whilst Yakety Sax was playing?

It was something like that. Then he invited me into the back of his van (so I could get a parcel)

Wearing a mini dress and heels, or chasing postmen? (or both?)

Early days, but lost 3lbs on my fast day yesterday. Went to bed at 8pm though!

Don't feel overly hungry today either. :)

I put 10Kg on my bench press and a couple of Kg on my 21's in the last week but more importantly I am off to buy new jeans at lunch.

So let's see if my waist size is in any way proportionate to my "almost obese" BMI of 29....

Since I wear my trousers with the waistband right on my hips, my waist size hasn't varied from my peak weight of just shy of 15st to my current 13st 4lb.

My arse has got smaller though :)

Broke my 5km PB last night - 28 minute something - not sure how much I trust the Strava app though, even after I edited the GPS data to give a more accurate run route it seemed to be a bit wonky

36 inch fit me with some room to spare. Not as good as I hoped but not as bad as I feared.

However my shirts / T shirts are tighter across the chest than my waist so something is going right.

I noticed last weekend i was creeping back up in weight, so this week i've been cutting back on the food.
Light breakfast, big lunch, light dinner all week. 6lbs lost this week and I didn't even feel like i was dieting! Especially since a couple of my lunches this week were burgers at meatmarket :D

No thanks, the temptation to buy cool running gadgets is already too great and I'm trying to resist spending any more money as the car insurance is due next month.

apparently you need it for turbo training on a bike.. heart rate and cadence

Post subject:  Re: Middle Age Spread

Yeah, that looks a bit of a bargain for that - was over £200 for a long time. In fact, I'm tempted, though my Garmin 405 is trusty and there's nothing wrong with it.

I had a cadence sensor. Someone nicked it - beware slightly, may be worth taking it off if you routinely leave your bike chained up. This was central London, mind.

I ran that a couple of times - great atmosphere.

Tough time of year to start cycling, but if you can do it in Winter, you can do it any time.

There is that. Al though I get a £1000 for £46 a month.

How long is the scheme over? You don't own the bike and have to buy it at market value at the end of the scheme on top of the payments you've made.
Sure, it'll be a bit cheaper than buying outright new, but not by a huge amount, and you don't actually own the bike till the end.
