Well my running was going really well until last week when I went skateboarding and tweaked my already fucked knee then decided to run five miles the next day thinking it would somehow help make it better. It really didn't. It's fine again now apart from a weird thumb-sized lump underneath one of the surgery scars but I still can't run because I'm full of some shitty virus cold thing again. Ah well.

Increased my routed to 2.5 miles now, and its a nicer once with a mixture of gradients.

Also started the week with some mild stomach bug, whilst I felt sick I never was but I'm really not interested in food so a bit of fasting has been going on. Also cut out the snacks after dinner and all booze aside from the odd vodka and diet lemonade.

Had dropped 5lbs by Wednesday.

Cycled to work today for the first time this year. A bit hard going at first but I'll soon be back up to speed.

Nice work. If you can cycle now, you can cycle any time - there might have been a couple of weeks in January that were a bit colder, but it's wet and windy where I am and even as the weather warms over the next few weeks, it'll get more unstable. Um, by which I just mean - stick at it, cos Spring-Summer is a glorious time to be cycling around, and getting to that after some more dodgy weather makes it all the better.

Just weighed myself. I am down to 16 stone 4.

Really chuffed, I was 18 stone not too long ago.

Good going you sexy bastard.

Are you going to BeeXBBQ? We will probably save £40 in petrol between us the weight we have lost.

As we've not seen each other a year the we can coo at our respective waistlines all the way there.

Crikey. I'm 34 waist, but with a 'you're older and chocolate turns to fat a lot easier' type belly.

Sometimes I can wear a belt with my 24 trousers. Other times not so much.

Yeah. It does vary on how much I've had to eat, but I vary from 32 being a bit loose to a 32 being too tight but needing a belt for the few pairs of 34" trousers I own.

I'm staggered that I'm the same waist as Mr Dave, KovacsC, and Russ!

I think I need to start losing weight though. T-shirts no longer hang off me like tents.

I'm staggered that at 13st 2lb, I still have to buy 36 inch waist troos. It must be my child bearing hips.

Jesus, Kovacs, you must be like a racing snake now. My trousers are all 32-34", with 34" usually needing a belt to feel secure - they never fall down completely, but hang around my hips in that horrible "teenager" styley.

Cycled in to work twice this week and it's starting to get easier again. I'll be pleased if I can manage two journeys a week all the way through till October this year.

It's a decent journey to get some exercise - 9 and a bit miles each way with a proper hill to climb while carrying a change of clothes and my laptop gets the heart rate up but doesn't take so long that you begrudge the time to do it. It also means I don't need to "waste" time going out in the evenings just to get some exercise.

https://www.strava.com/activities/263658134

I couldn't do it every day even if I wanted to as I need the car for work some days, but I can usually work round that and the shitty weather.

If you wear your trousers on your hips then you can get away with smaller waist sizes. I wear a 34 but my waist size is actually about 68.

Stop!

(not gonna lie, my first thought on seeing that photo was that his head looked like Alex Murphy's face without the helmet on in the original Robocop - just a piece of skin badly stretched over a skull too big for the neck.)

I'm on a very healthy eating tip now. And more exercise once I'm allowed.

See if I can get down to 32 waist. I was up to 36" a couple of years ago and last year down to 34". Not been weighed until I was in hospital and was told I'm 13stone 8lb and 6' tall. Not sure what my weight should be, just want to shift my belly really.

You're roughly the same height and weight as me (if you discount my gargantuan bonce, natch). Clearly most of your weight comes from bacon grease lining your major arteries.

Too soon?
