So after 265 hours I'm now basically done with my first full playthrough of the main game and the expansion, I've cleared the entire map of side content with the exception of the 'NCPD Scanner' events which are basically just little skirmish type things. They're not bad, but probably the least essential content in the game IMO.

At the slight risk of stating the obvious, I really can't recommend this game enough. (PS5/XBSX/PC only though, as you need to be playing the 2.x version of the game.)

I played 1.5 hours of this over the weekend and submitted my refund request this morning.

Just did not get into it *at all*.

That’s barely enough time to decide on the size of your boobs.

And what configuration you want your genitals in.

I think the opening stages of the game are possibly the weakest in some regards, as they're very on-rails and prescriptive in what you can, and need, to do. Once you've cleared the opening mission and the game opens up to you from your apartment, it hits its stride IMO.

Also I think playing as a female V helps enormously, I didn't care for the way the male V was voiced and his general attitude and stuff, and found myself not really liking the character I was playing as, I started again as female V and immediately felt more at home with my character. The boobs probably helped too.

Perhaps I'll give it another go next time it's on sale, then. I found the opening to be absolutely *awful*. It wouldn't have been anywhere as close to bad if I was actually driving in the driving segments. The tutorial is woefully inadequate at explaining what things do (there were at least a couple of times where it told me to do something new, but gave me no indication as to how, and I had to muddle through)

I imagine playing via Steam Link to my TV probably didn't help either, thinking about it. If I do pick it up again I'll try it on my PC monitor.

Yeah it didn’t grab me at first either. In fact I left it for a while after getting into Night City itself. Somehow it just clicked with me the next time I picked it up. I will say that I finished the game with less than half of my skill trees filled so I missed a shit load of upgrades… maybe it’s a bit too easy? Maybe I’m fucking awesome…

You can't fill all the skill trees, there aren't enough character levels and perk points in the game to do that, so you have to choose one or two trees to go deep into.

I didn't have much of an idea what I was doing early on, so just assigned skill points to each of the categories on an equal basis, so my V ended up as a bit of a jack of all trades, but honestly, on normal difficulty, that works fine.

There are some great specialised builds you can do, such as this stealth heavy affair:

Anyway, anybody who plays the game and doesn't just wander around as a pedestrian soaking it in is a silly person.
