There's quite a storm coming, and i can't decide if i'm going to surf tomorrow, Thursday or Friday. But i also don't know if my country can be described as "1st world", or if this is even a first world problem.

Yes it can, and yes being spoilt for choice on when to go surfing is quite definitely a first world problem.

Yes. According to wikipedia i can post on this thread

Quote:
Portugal is considered a developed country with an advanced economy and high living standards, listed with the nineteenth-highest quality of life index rating in the world as of 2005. It's one of the world's most globalized and peaceful nations

2005....

I bought what I thought was a red protective shell for my MBP, but it's not quite the colour in the photo.

I now have a pink MBP.

Oh man, I hate that. I find sitting close by and seething silently at the back of their head is the only solution.

Luckily my train nemesis was an old dude, he has stopped getting the train so I assume he has either retired or died. Either way, it's a win!

A mate of mine has a preferred seat on the train that we sometimes get on so me and Mrs B likes to get on first and sit in his seat to annoy because it's really weird that he cares.

Subtext: you're all weird for caring as well; it's just a bloody seat and two minutes in to your book/film/TV show/game of <whatever> you'll stop even noticing where you're sitting anyway. Weirdos.

I don't really understand it, but I never like sitting in seats if the little cupholder has litter in it or if there's a newspaper left on the seat.

I just can't stand trains, or buses. Planes I can tolerate because it usually means I'm going on holiday and because it's also a nice view out the window.

My preferred seat is in the rear-right corner of the train. It has a table, a power supply and is the best-positioned table to avoid glare from the sun on my screen. The second-best seat isn't as well-shielded from the sun and doesn't have a power supply. The third best was just EPIC SUN GLARE FOR AN HOUR AND A QUARTER.

Beyond all my wildest expectations, I've not had a single problem with the M5 yet.

Of course, now that I've typed that, I fully expect it to shit out it's own gearbox on to the A5 on the way home from work tonight.

There was an e60 m5 saloon outside BMW parts yesterday. A US one weirdly, must've been military or gubment.

it left me with the bizarre impression of being massive compared to my bigger estate. I suppose it must be the gigantic wheels, what are they, 20inch, with a sidewall about the same as the 245/40/r18 on mine?

while there I replaced the missing piece of lower grille plastic.

Twenty-two fucking quid!

I can't stand planes or buses. Trains are fucking brilliant though, but admittedly not during commuting hours.

I love take off. I love landing. I hate every single second in between, even on a short hop on a small and near-empty plane.

I like taking off & landing, but they are boring & uncomfortable the rest of the time. Also... fecking airports.

I like planes.

It still feels wrong that they can fly though, I mean it doesn't feel like you're going fast enough when you're on the runway.
