I've been getting excited about this for a while now. It's due out soon. I might actually buy it on day one. You also get early access to the Resident Evil 6 demo if that sort of thing floats your boat.

It has a hefty open world on a par with Oblivion, apparently, but the combat won't be complete gash. Also, it's Capcom so it's bound to have some sort of awesome polarising game mechanic like DEAD RISING or something. I'm sure I'll love it, and many will hate it. Can't wait.

I couldn't watch that first video thanks to 'that guy' but the dragon and cyclops fights look nice. I've been keeping my eye on this one, so as long as it's more rock-hard-no-talky Dark Souls than read-a-load-of-books Skyrim, I'll be happy.

The NPC fighters better shut the fuck up too.

I do very much like the look of this, but I'm concerned from the videos that the developers are a little bit over-fond of their "You can climb big bad guys and twat them in the head!" mechanic.

I like the look of it but being a Capcom game and a RPG how much of the game on the disk is going to be mine and how much is going to be DLC?

I'm not looking forward to the boss level where there is 5 of them in chairs and you have to try and get money from them.

Playing it now. Immediate first impressions:

What's with the fucking black bars?
There's too much shit busying up the fucking screen.

For fuck's sake.

Also, HORRENDOUS screen tearing, and I don't normally give a shit about that sort of thing. If it normally bothers you, this is going to drive you insane.

I get the impression that this is a bit beyond the technical limits of the current consoles.

All betas have black bars at the top and bottom - it's why they're not worth playing. Wait till they've filled out the whole screen.

Also, try being a monk instead of a spirit.

It also seems like the kind of game that PC nerds would love. It's got Dragons in it!

No idea why Capcom are snubbing the PC with this.

Should've given it a PC port/waited until next gen.

Unless this really is just a case of the demo being unfinished.

Black borders and screen tearing? The boarders are so tiny had WTB not mentioned them I honestly don't think I'd have noticed. I don't know what screen tearing is but I didn't notice and problem with the graphics. They're pretty awesome at times.

In fact, climbing onto monsters hacking away at wings and heads is decent honest fun. Loads of moves, funky bow and arrow shit and the ability to pick up and throw members of your own team! Yay!

Except not quite. I don't care for "issues" about graphics and tearing and frame rates or whatever but I FUCKING HATE the endless babble of NPC repeated again and again. Which wouldn't be too bad if their drivel wasn't taking up third of the screen on the left hand side. Three comments one after another displayed up the side of the screen is vastly irritating. For an action game it sure doesn't want me to see the action. Added help text at the bottom, a cumbersome action display in the bottom right and shit all over the place and I'm ready to throw it out the window. For an RPG Dark Souls sure doesn't burden the screen with much crap but this has text, minimap, dialogue, etc etc cluttering the HUD. Irritating.

It's be loads better too without the NPC's.

Plus, where's the lock on? I can't lock onto any enemies at all, which ain't much of a problem but I occassionally went steaming past goblins with a dashing strike. Fucks sake.

Goddamn beta's. Or summats.

But seriously:

http://i.imgur.com/CEqOB.jpg

That's exactly an inch and a half of black bar, and it's the same at the top of the screen as well! (On a 40" screen.) Unacceptable!

Full screen pic:

That being said, if you turn the infuriating NPC chat box off, the game itself seems like a hell of a lot of fun.
