I got it for £25 in Morrisons. Not sure if it was cheap because it doesn't have a manual or that's the actual price. I sort of regret it, even at that price. Right now at least. Might feel different again after I get further into it. Currently around 12 hours in.

Are you interested in this then chief? Otherwise I think I'm gonna trade it in tomorrow. GAME apparently give £16, so I'd be happy to let it go for that if you buy it tonight? I'd rather give it to a person than GAME.

Dunno, about 20 probably. I certainly gave it a fair whack! Just can't get into it.

It's probably partly me, though. I guess I'm just burned out on RPGs at the minute. I went into it off the back of 50 hours or so of Skyrim.

This is £15.85 on Shopto at the moment (Thanks Lewie!)

I think that's just about the right price for me. :)

Did I play this in 2012? Seems like ages ago. Better than Resi 6 though, whose demo was offered with it.

New PSN game: Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen!

Don't trust me but I think it's a standalone game rather than an expansion.

Actually, the description says it all takes place on a mysterious island so it just might be. Sounds like a job for Scooby Doo! And three mates who'll witter endlessly about how cold it is.

Y'know, I quite liked this after all the moaning, I think anyway. If you didn't want to play a fourty hour campaign this might be a decent download.

It's sort of both. It's basically an expansion, but when you buy it you get an enhanced version of the original game as part of the deal so you never need to previously own the original game to play the expansion.

I'm not sure that's right. There is a dlc version and a DVD version. Apparently the DVD version had the normal game's graphics compressed so there is a second disc with HD graphics to install. Not sure I get that. Anyway, DVD version what I have bought has the original game and the dlc and a hi res install pack. All for 13£

I am really liking the game. I am currently dragging cras' pawn around.

yours was free from the start and was level 46. Bit of a no-brainer. also another friend's fighter was useful for many levels, but I over took a few levels ago and just swapped out for a stupidly strong strider, so strong I think there may have been some hacking going on.

They've got rid of the ridiculous rock track when it loads up. Yay for someone at Capcom actually doing a decent job!

I'm confused what I should be loading up. A new game or load my old one or what? Gah, new game wants to overwrite my save. Fack off will ya. I'll start a new game...

This new island fang is reet difficult; which is, of course, a good thing cause it keeps the likes of you pansies from playing something unusual and ace.

The add on DLC is pretty huge and there's a pad throwing battle with a giant eye ball with huge tentacles that almost got the better of me. It was such an insanely difficult fight with a fantastically tense ending that I might tell you about it.

Anyway, Dark Arisen: the good bits from Dragons Dogma with none of the shit. Reet good, I say.

I started playing this again over the weekend, it really is rather good at times, fighting a griffin which takes off with me on it, then it gets shot out of the air and we both tumble down a cliff with me stabbing it in the neck with my pointy sticks of fire the whole time before crashing out at the bottom as I kill it! Awesome!

Then there was a woman in a bandit camp of women who started shouting at me about men and slapped me and died on the spot. she didn't even finish what she was saying, I assume she was allergic or something.

This has been a badass piece of DLC. It's Dark Souls-style difficult and was pretty interesting as well: massive enemies, tough as nails bosses, tricky dungeons and all that good shit with no cross country meandering. Yabbadabbado!

On the final boss! Yay me for sticking it out. I've had some awesome battles, mind you, some of them involved trying to find somewhere to stand where I could avoid getting smacked up. Like, on a ledge or a box or something or, my favourite, around a corner. Bit cheap but, fuck me, some of those fights are intensely difficult.

full ending,
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
down the pit, chose to fight, killed the seneschal, took over his job, wandered around Gran Soren (was disappointed to see that the pit had filled in and that pip was back alive after I had thrown him down the pit), went back up stairs, killed myself, turned my pawn into me

yeah, as I say, wtf? I don't mind weird, but that made no sense.

I've had to watch all eight endings on youtube to fathom what went on.

SPOILERS AHEAD. No ones playing it though, so who cares.

So for some reason a dragon chooses you, rips out your heart and nicks it. He keeps you alive with his dragon magic and calls out to you that you must find him.

You find the dragon and he offers to make you immortal or you can try and slay him.

If you don't fight him, he keeps your heart but you get on with your life. Fair deal really, but you ain't The Arisen. Turns out there's been loads of peeps that's had a crack at the dragon and died or shat their pants and took his offer. You meet some of the people who took the dragons offer throughout the game including the king.

As luck would have it, you do fight the dragon and kick his ass. He gives you your heart back and opens a rift to the spirit world for some reason.

So you jump down the rift and get some trinkets and open the rift Fo' Realz. Turns out that God's waiting for you - well it is a Japanese game and they're obsessed with this shit.

God says, in a nut shell, I keep making people with the strength to be a god but make these shitty trials to test you to see if you're worth it. First task: defeat a dragon. Check. Second: get up here. Check. Lastly: kick my ass.

So, he says, if you don't win then I'll turn you into a dragon and send you back to earth and you can help me find someone decent by nicking their heart out their chest, that gets their attention, and you can be the first part of the trial for me.

He goes on to say, the plan is, by keep having these trials for all eternity each Arisen that beats god should be better than the last god so, fingers crossed, over time you'll have a awesome god who's aces.

Anyway , you're sick of his blather by this time and slice him up and, like, totally BE Goro. I mean, God.

Turns out being god is boring so you kill yourself with the only magic sword that can kill a god.

The End.

Oh, Cept as your body falls to earth, your faithful Pawn jumps inside your body. COOL BEANS. Y'see the pawns are empty vessels but cause, like, you're totally in love with yours, your dying wish (probably, I'm making this last bit up) is that can have a proper life. So they get in your body and live life as a normal person. FUCK YEAH FOR THE WIN.

LE FIN.

No plans for a Western launch, though. This'll be for the Koreans, no doubt.

The PC version of this aging game is either out soon or out now.

So let's compare the PC & PS3.

It's looks a big old step up an' all and, thank fuck, they've got rid of those bloody black borders.
