Yeah, but it's exclusive to DD owners. That's of value to Capcom, so undermining it is obviously something they don't want to happen.

Well obviously. I just very much doubt anything would come of it. I think you're overreacting. Play offline if you're really scared.

That would only make a difference if the demo was phoning home. Your Xbox will still remember that you've played it.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do so, what I'm saying is that you can't say that it won't matter*, because you don't know, so people should beware.

* in writing, on a domain I own ;-)

The camera angle is annoying. Pressing start doesn't seem to pause the game and brings up a fucking mobile phone instead of a proper menu. It also seems quite ugly, although the environments seem more detailed/interactive than they were in 5.

Oh, and perma co-op is back for sure. Not scary at all. Seems like pretty standard Resi fare though. By 5's standards at least.

Opening doors and moving obstacles requires your partner's help, so if you run ahead you have to tediously wait on your partner before you can progress. Not cool.

Graphics are actually pretty damn impressive, they're just straining heavily on the system. And you can shoot chunks off zombies!

This hasn't really dented my excitement to be honest. It has some Resident Evil problems but it seems decent to me. They're obviously going for three distinct campaigns - even the GUIs are different. No phone in Chris' campaign, which is undoubtedly more "military shooter" than Leon's. But it's a Capcom military shooter so it's immediately more appealing than Spec Ops: The Line, for example.

So what's the item menu like: Resi 5 boxes or Resi 4's briefcase?

It's different for each character in style, but generally it's an initially confusing interface that I'd liken to the PS3's XMB interface. And the game doesn't pause when you access it.

No idea if there's a limit on what you can carry because it's just a demo with two or three guns, but there's no inventory Tetris that's for sure.

Boo!

I'll be glad when the industry gets sick of co-op and starts making awesome scary single player games again. Dark Souls.

It's been a while, but RE5 does pause when you hit start, but not when you bring up the inventory.

RE6 doesn't pause when you hit start, which is one way of bringing up the inventory.

I've not tried it for this but the last one you just burnt it to disk with that structure (\Content\00000000000000\randomotherstuff)

This seems to be the best set of instructions on what you have to do : http://digiex.net/downloads/download-ce ... nload.html

YEAH http://kotaku.com/5930761/resident-evil ... s-bad-guys

Quote:
There's a new mode in Resident Evil 6, and it lets you enter other people's games—and kill them. Dubbed "Agent Hunt", it's available after you've cleared the game and allows you to play as a RE6 creature—presumably a monster—and take on the game's protagonists.

Agent Hunt is only available on specific stages. And Agent Hunt players can use voice chat to coordinate with fellow Agent Mode players who have also inhabited the game. The player whose game has been infected with the mode will not be able to hear the voice chat.

When Agent Hunt creatures enter your game, you'll know; however, you won't know which creatures are Agent Mode players and which ones are computer controlled. Though, if you are getting unnecessarily trolled, then, yeah, you're probably dealing with real life jerks.

For those who do know what their play interrupted by Agent Hunt, it's possible to switch it off.

A few choice quotes:

"But as it stands, only one of these campaigns is any good, with the other two going from bad to abysmal"

"Only one chapter can be called a success"

"The other two are simultaneously too ambitious and not ambitious enough, plagued by poor design and half baked mechanics"

"... We could be looking at one of the most lopsided gaming experiences ever made."

Leon's chapter sounds good, Chris' section is a running gun battle and the newbie, Jake, gets the biggest kicking of all for a cheap Nemesis-lite battle.

I'm worried...

Not sure what to make of the wording behind it but Capcom confirm that there are copies of Resi6 out there now which have been 'stolen'(*)

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... -been-sold

Quote:
Stolen copies of Resident Evil 6 have been sold in Poland weeks ahead of the game's official launch, Capcom has corroborated.

"Capcom is currently undertaking a thorough investigation into reports that Resident Evil 6 is being sold ahead of its official October 2 release date," the publisher told Eurogamer in a statement.

"At this time, all we can add is that it would appear this unfortunate incident is limited to a small quantity of stolen copies of the German USK PlayStation 3 version of the game."

The reports surfaced at the end of last week, and seemed to revolve around only one or two shops selling the stolen goods. Exactly how many copies of the game were stolen, we don't know.

The buyer of a stolen copy of Resident Evil 6 is, unsurprisingly, trying to flog it for loads of money on eBay. The starting bid is now €478.78 with a buyout of €1196.71.

(*) - if the shop had stock early and just sold it early is that actually stolen ?

Things to do immediately upon playing:

1) Set laser pointer for the targeting reticle for that proper Resi experience.
2) Reduce the camera speed to 0.
3) Reduce aiming speed to 1.

It's Resi not CoD and I don't have anything better to do that I've got to dash through the game at Mach speed. Ok, so the speed he runs doesn't change but it feels slower overal.

Leon's was ok. I wasn't overly impressed although it could be just the start of a great adventure. Who knows.

Mind you, with such a big budget I've no idea why they can't get some better voice actors. Plus the elevator sequence could have been better if it wasn't a QTE.

I liked the dual wielding handguns though.

Hated: the mobile phone, its occasional appearance in the bottom right hand corner of thd screen and the "help" button that flicks a fucking great arrow exactly where you have to go EVEN THOUGH there's an option of an onscreen pointer showing you the same. I turned that off right away.

I'm sick to fucking death of atmosphere ruining handholding bollocks. It's as linear as it can be - if you're stuck then you probably shouldn't be playing video games or interacting with the public.

Ah well, I'll try the others now.

Cor, I died doing Chris' story and I can't be arsed to go back and replay it.

1) His 'mobile' is a confusing terrible mess. Good luck changing your settings if you start there first.
2) The camera is far too close. It felt close playing Leon but with Chris' section being just a load of shooting, the problems are amplified.
3) Every now and again, when it's loading up a cut scene it takes a little longer to load than the game expects so it cuts to a static loading screen which is the jumbled button layout. Talk about ruining the atmosphere.

"Monsters! Monsters! QUICK, run this way"
*Full screen picture of joypad*
"MONSTERS"
*jumps over burning car*
*Full screen picture of joypad*
And so on...

4) Shooting people with colourful facemasks and guns, even if they occassionally sprout a giant willy out of their shoulder, ain't as terrifying as Resi 1-5 zombie/monster hybrid.
5) The dilution of the kill sequence from Resi 4 is complete. Get your neck twisted by upside down monster bat thingy? The camera is suddenly miles away and your character just falls over. Great.
6) Oh, and the amount of waggling I was expected to do to get out of that bat things death grip? WAY too much. A couple of seconds at the most - not 10 seconds of futile boredom each time I'm in a pinch.

Then I tried newcomer Jake.

Quite a scary intro movie. Giant nemesis. Yup. Ok. Suddenly I'm running into the camera. Whoops better move the stick. X and jump over a low wall appears. Player 2 has however ran in front of me and she's totally obscured what's going momentarily. I'm not quick enough to press X. Nemesis kills me and the demo ends.

This ain't making me like it at all.

Well that was annoying. I jumped the first bit but then he caught up and killed me. Turned out I wasn't pressing X so he wasn't running even though he was still doing the run animation.

Then, it's onto the trapped in a room Bit followed by the typical lure the boss next to an exploding barrel bit. He killed me again and I've had enough of Resident Evil 6 the demo.

It's gone backwards.

Prepare for upset.

Has item management gone forever now?

And what was going on with the health? Has it gone the same way as Gears, CoD etc? I couldn't figure it out. :S

Health is as normal, but each "bar" of health will regenerate like in CoD if it's less than full, if you get me? Not sure about item management but it definitely doesn't have item Tetris anymore. There are certainly lots of things to be disappointed by. I still think the campaigns will be worth playing, however.

Am I remembering it wrong then, cause I can't remember seeing the health bar on screen.

You're probably talking about this thing but it didn't remain on screen (thankfully) and I distinctly remember during the Chris campaign that it never showed up even when I was taking hits as I was wondering how far from death I was.
