If I press the buttons on the klipsch inline remote it pauses or the music app crashes.

Mostly things just sound awful and it seems to be the phone not the headphones.

For goodness sake. I got myself a pair of Skullcandy earphones after two sets of Sony earphones broke within weeks. Nice clear bass and a decent price. The music sounds very 'wide' on them and you are treated to details in the music that were too subtle for the Sony ones. My iPod/iPhone earphones are still in the little wrap they ship them in. Evil things (actually, those styles wont fit in my wars without leaving them very sore and red, so doubly evil)

I have new headphones for my desk at work. They are Panasonic RP-HTX7A in black. They are lightweight and comfortable and have excellent sound quality.

After two months with the Panasonic EXTREME EXPLOSIVES... they're pretty good. They really do a great job of keeping the noise out, so plane or subway I can actually hear all the music clearly, and keep the volume down fairly low as a result.

However, they really, really hurt after you've been wearing them for a while. So, no long gaming sessions or such with them.

It also comes with some headphones. Which are shit. But have an appropriately short lead for clipping the Bluetooth goober onto your shirt.

So I've replaced shit headphones with my Klipsch ones, which sound much better. But have an annoyingly long lead.

Question: can anyone recommend a decent pair of sub-£30 in-ear headphones that don't have a long lead? I suspect not, as most people would prefer a long lead. But thought I'd ask.

What sort of length are you looking for? 12"? 24"?

Good question. How are leads measured? Is it from the jack to where the headphones split? Or from the jack to the bud of the shortest headphone?

If the former, the Sony (which are a good length for my needs) are 13". If the latter, the Sony are 24".

Honestly, I think the best answer might be to take it to a friendly electrician and ask them to shorten the longer lead for you. Or tie a knot in it.

I'm currently using AKG K450's and they're brilliant. Replacable cable, too.

I have some Beyer Dynamic Custom One Pro.

Whilst the clarity is absolutely incredible they do lack bass, even though they're supposed to be the most bass heavy high end cans money can buy.

I think my next buy will be a set of Dre Pro or something. I really like my bass, and given most of the music I listen to is either heavy or bass driven I feel these Beyers leave me wanting.

Those AKG ones also look like a great shout. They may not be in-ear, but they look comfy and the changeable lead is a neat idea. Hmmm.

I use Sennheiser HD555 at home for the last 15 years or so, and i don't see any reason to change. They sound great and are very confortable. But aren't really portable.

I also have a pair of Koss KSC75 for running which are a miracle how can something so small and cheap can sound so good. You will look a bit silly with those though.
