Oh, absolutely - and I wouldn't say any different.

Having said that, of course - some people when seeing someone in the inside lane in their rear view will pull in to the inside lane. And if you're there...

That isn't funny... I was coming along the M4 one day in lane 2 on my bike and had just overtaken someone slow in lane 1... an Audi A3 (who are fast becoming the biggest twats on the road) was behind me. I check over my shoulder and, seeing that I am now well past the slow car and AT THAT MOMENT there was nothing else in that lane, indicate to go back into lane 1. I begin to move, and look again to see the A3 swerve desperately onto the hard shoulder because they'd stupidly just jumped into lane 1 to undertake me, having decided to undertake me to shave 0.25secs off their journey time and get up the approaching slip road.

You lose all moral high ground forever in any driving thread for having jammed my handbrake on while I was taking a corner at 20.

Importantly, though, I wasn't driving. You were. And you had an unsecured drunk in your front seat. You irresponsible maniac.

And we were 18, not 20. ;)

The exception to the rule. ;) Although I've always preferred the 'monster of the week' type episodes to any of them involving alien abductions and the like.

Final Fantasy and other shitty RPG's. I just dont see the fun or skill in these boring games.

Despite Dimril insisting that they are the best British band since the Beatles, the Spice Girls just dont do it for me.

Girls Aloud on the otherhand, now thats a different matter altogether...sweet jizzum.

Oh, I almost forgot...Wii's they are weee...unless you are a) female b) a child or c) gay

From what I've seen on tv, the best way to meet women is to go out to some manky pubs that specialise in manky slappers, get totally wasted, then try to snog everything in sight.

Would a "complete dick" include the dotted line emanating from the crown?

Aww, she'd be flattered, but she's definitely seeing somone :) . She's a lovely girl and she's brainy to boot (she's at Cambridge at the moment. At university I mean, not working in Starbucks), but she hates looking like Gillian Anderson (or she used to anyway, especially when the X-Files was really massive) because people would come up to her and say it ALL of the time. If she were near the same age she would have been constantly mistaken for her, but she was quite a bit younger

Since this isn't that thread I'm going to be very polite and simply call that an "interesting" reading of the discussion. It's certainly an opinion you could form if you ignored every single word in that thread and instead acted out your own made up thread using sock puppets to represent random Beexers.

I think you sometimes miss the point of things, Ace. I think sometimes you get so caught up in your moral objections to something that you stop reading what someone is actually writing. I don't think there is a single person on here that likes scientology, and certainly can't see any hint of it written anywhere on here ?:| I think there is a difference between defending people's rights to a platform for their beliefs, a right to free speech if you wish, and actually supporting that belief system itself. Do people have a right to meet, discuss and campaign in support of their dislike of homophobia? Yes. Do people have a right to meet and discuss their belief of their values as a white race being superior to those of black people? Yes. Am I a homophobic racist?

Nope.

The best we can do is to try and educate these people who have beliefs and values that are, to us, immoral or just plain wrong. If someone I knew - a friend or family member, were to tell me that they were joining Scientology I'd do everything that I could do to change their minds and convince them otherwise, but that doesn't mean that the Scientologists who do decide to join do not have some rights.

Hope that clears it up. :) I said something similar the Scientology thread itself, but maybe you missed it.

Oh, sorry, Dudley, I submitted that as you did.

But yes, I agree with you.

I am wearing a hippy hat (it is chocolate and avocado coloured with a giant floppy brim) right now, actually. It is sensible because it has a little bow, and not half a greengrocers fruit stall on it...

It's actually a valid discussion.

Most really successful sprinters are black. Does this mean black people are naturally better at those skills? It could do. Men are pretty demonstratively better than women at sprinting after all... it's almost worth asking why they don't split the Olympic 100m into black and white since they do for men and women...

OR, is running more often a way out of their current situation. After all, the upper echelons of the corporate world are reasonably exclusively white. Are whites better at running successful multinationals? Possibly, or is it some very strong nepotism, leaving more black kids to find alternative ways to make an uber successful living, like say, sprinting.

I think it's a valid discussion, but there's very few places you could have it.

--

As for Scientology, I was taken aback because I made it pretty clear I detest it. I just have trouble detesting it more than other cults such as the Kiddy fiddler condoners that call themselves "Christians".

I was thinking more of these guys, Who think they are superior in every manner just because, but I understand what you mean.

Are some races genetically or culturally more likely to excell in some skills than others? Talking about black athletes someone once proposed to me the idea that in places such as America sports such as running cost very little to get started at. You basically need feet, and some trainers (though many african long distance runners train barefoot, I met one in Richmond park one day - he was/is really famous and his name was Nelson or Wilson, I think, and his name sounded like 'Kiptkarteur', I think (though Googling tells me that word does not exist). Anyway, sidetracking myself...

So, yes, anyway, they suggested that people from poorer communities found sports such as running good ones to start out with as they required very little equipment, whereas gymnasts from the same country are more often than not white as gymnast training and equipment is expensive, which may be part of the reason.
