So I've been playing Soul Sacrifice and I've done the story (enjoyed the little twist) and I've listened to the talking book (dreadful Voice Overs throughout) and I get to paste Magusar but, thing is, I ran out of magic and there's no way to recharge the magic so I can to sacrifice myself. Then the credits rolled. Is this a win or am I supposed to kill Magusar. I'm not sure if I can count this towards my 52 for the year or am I doing something wrong here?

Says here that's he's killable.

Shame that every sodding time you go to the credits and then back to the start and then do the final cut scene again and ... etc. Facking irritating. I managed to get him to his dragon form but it's neigh on impossible without being able to top-up your spells. I wonder if you have to grind all the side missions to be strong enough to do this. Hmmm, if so, this might go uncompleted. I want enjoying it that much.

Have you tried cooperatingness?

(I liked the game, but the dub sufficiently annoyed me that I didn't get far, but I believe coop play is intended ala monster hunter)

As far as I know, you can't co-op the story mode and this is the only thing I'm interested in.

I believe there's about a hundred co-op missions that you can co-op on the side which will probably give you more powers and stuff but it's not interesting me enough to try. I just want to finish it and move onto the next thing.

If you're not bothered about playing it again here's some story crap.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Every time a sorcerer absorbs a soul he gets the memories of his victim. This drives the main character in the book a bit mental as he can't remember whether the thoughts he is having are his or his victims. Same is happening with Magusar except Magusar isn't Magusar. He was another sorcerer that defeated Magusar (actually a bad dude) but it turns out that Magusar had eternal life and his memories have infected the unnamed sorcerer and Magusar is slowly driving him mad.

Anyway, Magusar takes over the unnamed sorcerer's body. Magusar then wants to fuck up everyone and rule the world. The character in the book then tries and stop him but Magusar messes him up.

But just as Magusar is about to kill him he feels pity. Probably coming from the unnamed sorcerer whose body Magusar is now in control of. And Magusar drips his blood into the main character giving him eternal life too. Still, the main character knows must stop Magusar so he gets back up (thanks to now eternal life) and fights Magusar again. Magusar promptly fucks him up. Then drips blood in his mouth and makes him better. They fight again. Magusar wins. Main Character guy gets blood, gets up, starts a ruck, gets beaten up, etc etc etc.

This cycle of fighting (and losing) goes on for years and years and years. Finally, Magusar, after years of fighting, beats main character into a bloody lump of flesh. Main character guy is just a lump of smashed bones and liquefied flesh. He's fucked him up real good. Magusar then clears off and rules the world.

The twist: Well, the book you're reading is actually what is left of the main character from the book.

Had a little go on Dragons Crown yesterday (free on ps+ a fee months back) and, boy, is it pretty. Like, really gloriously drawn, erm, "sprites" or something. Are they sprites? Who knows. Who cares. What I do know is that they're wonderfully drawn, which leads me to my main point....

Tits. Utterly absurd tits. Lots of crazy crazy tits.

Cool, cheers.

I assume I can get PS+ thingy for this? but what does that offer? is it online play and games and discounts and stuff, is it worth it if I am not going to be playing much on line (which I might not)?

Online play for PS3 and Vita is free, you only need PS+ for online play if you have a PS4.

You get two games per platform per month, so if you are Vita-only it means you are paying for two games a month (although some are cross-platform) - I'm not sure if that's good value, truth be told.

Here's the last six months' Vita-compatible Plus games to help you decide whether it looks like it's worth it:

Sept 2014:
Velocity 2X (PS4 & Vita)
PlayStation Allstars Battle Royale (PS3 & Vita)
TxK (Vita)
Joe Danger (Vita)

Oct:
Rainbow Moon (PS3 & Vita)
Pix the Cat (PS4 & Vita)
Spelunky (PS4, PS3 & Vita)

Nov:
Binding of Isaac Rebirth (PS4 & Vita)
The Hungry Horde (Vita)
Steamworld Dig (PS4 & Vita)
Luftrausers (PS3 & Vita)
Escape Plan (PS4 & Vita)

Dec:
Final Horizon (Vita)
Titan Attacks (PS4, PS3 & Vita)

Jan 2015:
Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition (Vita)
Woah Dave! (Vita)

Feb 2015:
Rogue Legacy (PS4, PS3 & Vita)
Kick and Fennick (Vita)

If you do get PS+, you can use the website to unlock all the free games each month -- PS3, 4, and Vita. Then if you get more consoles down the road you'll have an instant library of games. If you have even vague ambitions of owning a PS4 one day that can make getting PS+ now much more valuable.

Aha! Good stuff! Frankly, for (£40?) quid it seems worth it anyway, I am just awaiting shipping confirmation on the Vita before buying anythng extra. Got it from Amazon.de for £90 new in a lightning deal thing, so not convinced it will turn up!

Given your list above, the pack containing

8GB Memory Card and a PlayStation Store voucher to download:
Tearaway,
Gravity Rush,
Uncharted: Golden Abyss,
Escape Plan and
TxK.

for £29.99 seems like a good deal?

8 GB is laughable though. I'd suggest at least a 32 GB card.

well, each game is at least 11.99 on the store. How dose the PSN store compare to MS store in terms of rip off?

@DG, yeah, more interested in the games really, but anything is better than nothing.

FYI on an 8 gig card you'll lose some straight away for the 'system' stuff and then uncharted is 3.5 gig - i dont think you can put all the games on that one card even just from that small pack and you will also have the PS+ games for this month as well

Bobbyaro wrote:

PSN stuff is 'often' on sale and really highly discounted (not a pound off here or there)

As an example Tearaway (on your list and a great game) is £11.99 now but was only £6.39 last week as their deal of the week

I've only ever used a Vita with either a 4gb card (no way near enough) and a 64gb card (enough to not really worry about space) I'd say it is worth getting a 64gb card.

As zaphod says, it's not uncommon for there to be really good discounts on PSN stuff. I don't own any physical games for my Vita, but I'm spoiled for choice of stuff to play.

If you have either a PS3 or a PS4 in addition to a Vita, I reckon PS+ is totally worth it, too. Took me a while to be convinced it was worth the money, but I am a total convert.

Look the games are on the card! Let him get the games and buy a separate card if he likes (I recommend a 32GB)

They are not - you get the card and a little bit of paper with a download code for the games.

I have in the past bought things like that cheap and then sold on the card just to get the games on my account

Also, rather counter-intuitively, hot-swapping the cards is a pain that involves rebooting the Vita, which is another minor-ish reason to prefer one big card.

Ah, fair enough then. Still a good price for the games alone though unless any of them are currently on sale.

It's even worse if you want to swap profiles - swap cards, factory reset and compulsory watch of long welcome video.
Bleh.

If you were about to buy all five of those games for full price from PSN all at once, buying them with a memory card would be cheaper, yes.

I imagine not many people are in the position of planning to buy all five of those games at once.

Bundling together a bunch of items that are significantly discounted on a regular basis, then only discounting them slightly, is not a good deal. Not if you are vaguely flexible. Far better to just buy the one or two you want to play right now, and wait for a better discount on the others.

I'd buy it.

No idea how much the 8Gb card is on its own: gotta be more than a tenner right? So you're getting the games for around £20? Maybe less? Plus, apart from Escape Plan, they're all top games (well, I don't care much for Uncharted either, but I'm fussy like that and people on here enjoyed it).

I am not having a go, I am trying to find out as I have never owned any PS stuff before, but @ £29, it is less than £6/game. okay I realise that some are less than other, but is it really likely that these games will be reduced to < £6?
