I've probably missed some. :)

Given your list above, the pack containing

8GB Memory Card and a PlayStation Store voucher to download:
Tearaway,
Gravity Rush,
Uncharted: Golden Abyss,
Escape Plan and
TxK.

for £29.99 seems like a good deal?

Without seeing how much they all are individually, I'd say so. Seems like a good price. :)

8 GB is laughable though. I'd suggest at least a 32 GB card.

well, each game is at least 11.99 on the store. How dose the PSN store compare to MS store in terms of rip off?

@DG, yeah, more interested in the games really, but anything is better than nothing.

FYI on an 8 gig card you'll lose some straight away for the 'system' stuff and then uncharted is 3.5 gig - i dont think you can put all the games on that one card even just from that small pack and you will also have the PS+ games for this month as well

Bobbyaro wrote:

PSN stuff is 'often' on sale and really highly discounted (not a pound off here or there)

As an example Tearaway (on your list and a great game) is £11.99 now but was only £6.39 last week as their deal of the week

I've only ever used a Vita with either a 4gb card (no way near enough) and a 64gb card (enough to not really worry about space) I'd say it is worth getting a 64gb card.

As zaphod says, it's not uncommon for there to be really good discounts on PSN stuff. I don't own any physical games for my Vita, but I'm spoiled for choice of stuff to play.

If you have either a PS3 or a PS4 in addition to a Vita, I reckon PS+ is totally worth it, too. Took me a while to be convinced it was worth the money, but I am a total convert.

If you've got all 3 consoles then PS+ is a no brainer.

Look the games are on the card! Let him get the games and buy a separate card if he likes (I recommend a 32GB)

They are not - you get the card and a little bit of paper with a download code for the games.

I have in the past bought things like that cheap and then sold on the card just to get the games on my account

Also, rather counter-intuitively, hot-swapping the cards is a pain that involves rebooting the Vita, which is another minor-ish reason to prefer one big card.

Ah, fair enough then. Still a good price for the games alone though unless any of them are currently on sale.

It's not a great price for the games. Unless you want to play every single one of them, rather than just most of them.

It's even worse if you want to swap profiles - swap cards, factory reset and compulsory watch of long welcome video.
Bleh.

If you were about to buy all five of those games for full price from PSN all at once, buying them with a memory card would be cheaper, yes.

I imagine not many people are in the position of planning to buy all five of those games at once.

Bundling together a bunch of items that are significantly discounted on a regular basis, then only discounting them slightly, is not a good deal. Not if you are vaguely flexible. Far better to just buy the one or two you want to play right now, and wait for a better discount on the others.

I'd buy it.

No idea how much the 8Gb card is on its own: gotta be more than a tenner right? So you're getting the games for around £20? Maybe less? Plus, apart from Escape Plan, they're all top games (well, I don't care much for Uncharted either, but I'm fussy like that and people on here enjoyed it).

I am not having a go, I am trying to find out as I have never owned any PS stuff before, but @ £29, it is less than £6/game. okay I realise that some are less than other, but is it really likely that these games will be reduced to < £6?

Edit@lewie.

Yes less than an average of £6 is extremely likely. Gravity Rush & TxK have been ~£3 several times, Tearaway & Uncharted have both been £7 a few times. Not totally sure about Escape Plan, but it's been rather cheap several times.

If you want to spend £30 on games, you're better off just getting £30 PSN credit and buying games you like the look of when they are discounted.

Okay a different way to look at it

You need a memory card
Ideally you want a big one but an 8 is okay and thats going to cost you £15 to buy - and if you do switch to a bigger one you will get at least a tenner back on the old one via ebay

If you bought only Tearaway (great game £11.99) & Gravity Rush (great game £11.99) then everything else on the card is 'free'

So buy it - enjoy the games - and if you like and use your vita get a bigger card and sell the other one to get a tenner back

Sure, I can see that line of thinking. I was primarily responding to:

I'd also say that Uncharted isn't great.

There is a deal of the week on PSN nearly every week, although that's across PS3/PS4/PS Vita.

Wider sales occur on a semi regular basis. Maybe an average of once a month.

All announced here.

If you have a Playstation 3 then you have Playstation Home. In there you can play some arcade games. These are the arcade games from Playstation Home, but without Playstation Home, on the Playstation Vita.

What is wrong with it, it comes with two free games on the Vita? I can then buy games on it, but these games aren't bought on PSN. Errr, weird.

It's ok, you can't access the Home app, just the arcade games. They are probably ok.

Home is not.

Persona 4 Golden - I've slotted 24 hours or so into this so far. But then I left it a month or so ago and I haven't been back. I enjoyed it a lot but don't feel any compulsion to return to the routine of it all. I'm only up to the disappearance of the Idol - and I suspect I'm scores of hours away from finishing.

Persona 4 Goldeners - would you recommend finishing it or simply bask in the 20+ surreal and happy hours one has already wrung from it?

Some cheapo Vita games in their ridiculously named Vita on the Move sale.

I picked up a couple of PSP games as I fancied some Harvest Moonage and Mega Manage. I also picked up Sniper Elite 3 for the PS4, which didn't seem too bad at 15.99.

Luckily no one responded to this and told me to leave it alone. I've now 60 hours in and it's proving a wonderful toilet break companion.

Also happened upon Sue Perkins in it. But we won't hold that against it.

Goldeneye. Pistols only. Facility. No odd job.

Though seriously, I know someone who broke into my pals' flat to steal their N64 so that they'd have to go to Gatecrasher with him rather than stay in playing Goldeneye yet again.

Gatecrasher was good, but NY Sushi was better.

Indeed, Sushi was the king of clubs, The Forum the king of pre-club bars.

They knocked down the halls of residence where I was for 2 years. Probably had their reasons.

Never really got on with it on iOS, loved it on Xbox 360 but struggled to wrest the necessary telly time from Mrs Fop for it. So alien autopsies on the loo will be perfect.
