It apears that hiding the content makes the forum think that the topics are unread.

I don't like that. There will be nothing for me to read, but it will still sit there, telling that there is!

Oh ignore me, all 3 of the sub forums don't change.

Although that's even worse, how I can I tell at a glance if there is stuff to read or not (and don't say memorise the last poster bit on the left)?

I'll look into that, but at the moment it's working 'properly' (as there are things in there you haven't read - because you can't read them).

Looking in the main forum now, if you click the little icon that appears next to threads with unread messages in, (and it takes you to the first unread message) when you come back to the list again, the link stays bold. The link only changes colour if you click on it.

Now, as I often use that little link, I still have most of my links set to bold, even though I have read the threads.
