Hello, every-bod-peeps.

As you may have been aware, Mr. Gnomes has recently sold me his Wii! He's sent me Splinter Cell, Zelda, Sports and Play, and I already own Super Mario Galaxy and Sonic & Mario at the Olympics.

So...

a) Please add my Friend Code to your Wiis so I can see you all!

b) What games do you guys play?

I'll be looking at getting Mario Kart on my next paycheque, any other recommendations?

Also if a Mod would add my Code to the list on the Sticky, that'd be grand.

Now to get stuck in to some Zelda, I think.

PS. Thanks again, Pete. You indeed a gent. :D

The list auto updates when you add it to your profiles dude.

I can't remember the last time I turned on my Wii.

Use mine for Wii Fit, Mario Kart and for Opera Browser when I can't be arsed going upstairs.

I'm sure Sheepeh doesn't need to know about people who don't like the Wii, and is just looking for people to recommend him cool games and stuff, not negativity.

Sheepeh, other than the hopefully obvious Mario Galaxy, I recommend trying more 'off the beaten track' stuff - Endless Ocean is supposed to be really good - and steering clear of the likes of Call of Duty, and other such big-name licensed games. Oh, supposedly Resident Evil 4 is better on the Wii, in its special Wii version. Don't really know of any more myself, sorry.

Currently Boom Blox. It's like Peggle only 3D and requiring more skill. But with shitter music.

The local multiplayer Jenga type games are a mixture of skill and spawn making for excellent family larks.

Ooh, that sounds ace, Trousers. I shall have to look out for a cheap copy.

CUS, I've seen my brother in law play Resi4 on his Wii, and it does look good. I'll see if I can borrow it off him at some point. As it's my "secondary" console, I'll be far more happy to buy the lesser known, obscure stuff (mainly cus it's dead cheap, and more "fun" than the 360 2nd tier stuff). That last sentance had far too much punctuation.

No More Heroes is alright, but the visuals can grate a bit if you're are used to HYPER-WOW 3D HD 360 STUFF! Obviously.

DONT DELETE MY ZELDA SAVES!

Although I suppose you can, it's just a case of whether you want to hang on to a save that's 3/4 through the game ;) I did really enjoy Zelda, it takes a little while to get a hang of the controls and it's definitely best plays in fits and bursts.

Guitar Hero was a possible buy for me, but I could never justify the cost of the dang controller.

Glad you're satisfied anyway :DD

I must confess I had to look it up on the 'net myself. Select the Envelope icon on the main menu, and choose Create Message --> Address Book. It'll tell you what your code is.

@CG - I probably won't delete any of your stuff unless I really run out of space for some reason. Although I'll start Zelda from the start, if I get stuck I might take a look round with your saves ;)

If you've not played it on another format, Bully is ace and feels like it was written for the Wii all along. Control is seamless.

Mmm, how long does it take to "register"? I added Romanista in a mass-adding session, and not a single one of those mass-added codes has registered. The other Wii in the house was on at the same time when I added them to each other, and it only took about 30 minutes as opposed to 3 or 4 days.

Should I just delete and re-add the people I know added me?

They only activate when the other person adds you as well, I believe. Very cack.

Didn't get my Wii code last night, I'll sort it out over the weekend.

@Romanista - the WoS wiki is down, did it have the full list of Wii codes on there?

Like everything online with Nintendo, they do it their earliest convenience, you get what you pay for with a free service. 2-5 days seems to be the norm.

Aye, I think so, although I haven't had much time to sit and play the full games I've spent a few hours playing some older VC stuff like Bubble Bobble.

Although I played Zelda for an hour or so the other night and (this isn't really a spoiler but if you still want it PUREBEST look away now) couldn't work out how to do the fishing for the cat for flipping ages! I had to look it up online for tips in the end.

Have you hooked it up via component Sheepeh? ALL WII OWNERS REALLY SHOULD YOU KNOW, IF YOU CAN, LIKE.

I recommend the Joytech cable for £14.99. £5 cheaper than the nintendo one and the audio leads split off from it sensibly.

Boggo Composite (the red white and yellow one, that came in the box). I take it the other cable lets me enable the greyed out "HDTV" options? I'd get one, but I'm already using the other sockets for the Xbox 360 and it can actually make more use of them. I'd upgrade the Xbox to HDMI and bump the Wii up to Component...but I have a launch 360 and it doesn't *have* HDMI.

I've got one of these (I'm not necessarily saying buy it from here, I just couldn't remember what they were called, I did get one from ebay though) -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MULTI-COMPONENT-SPLITTER-SWITCHER-SWITCH-BOX-360-PS3-UK_W0QQitemZ280229548038QQihZ018QQcategoryZ61395QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Which has my ps2, wii and xbox (standard rather than 360 variety) plugged in. I can't see any picture loss switching between them, or any interference when all the devices are on at the same time.
The only problems I've got with it are that I'm on my second one, because one of the audio plugs got a bit dodgy and started dropping the audio, and whenever someone switches a light on or off (anywhere in the house), there's a slight jerk in the picture. Not enough to cause you to ruin your game or anything, but it can be a bit offputting.

Edit - Play Asia have them in stock for a bit cheaper - here

Cheers. I borrowed a Wii Componant cable from work on the understanding that if it's not a great improvement I can bring it back, and otherwise I can pay for it Tuesday. A quick squiz suggests Zelda to be quite a bit better looking in HDTV mode, so I think a splitter for Wii60 goodness is in order.

Either way, stuff randomly looks stretched and stupid in that mode. Or stuff is randomly stretched and stupid on the Wii, I'm not sure which.

EDTV/HDTV mode made a small but noticable improvement on my TV.

You probably have your aspect ratio set wrong - remember there are settings on your Wii and probably your TV, too.

No, I don't. And some elements of the interface look correct, notably the non-3d vectory bits.
