Red, in a squeezy or glass bottle. Sort of a more tangy and viscous vinegar.

Breakfast was pretty good too...

Kate took photos of all the food last night, I'll post them at some point today.

Food wise it was obviously great, but not a huge step up from the one star places I have been to, not sure what I was expecting though :)
The service is incredible however! As an experience it is the best place I have eaten, for sure.

Never eaten there, but have been to the Blind Pig cocktail bar upstairs. Is good.

I've been to the Pollen Street Social, which was excellent and similarly has a great and unusual cocktail menu. I had an awesome beetroot one.

Going for my first ever Michelin star meal tomorrow! Tasting menu at The Kitchin, can't wait! Going at lunch time and following it with a murder walking tour of Edinburgh then cocktails :)

Have you never tried Braidwoods!? :o It's only over the hill. No my favourite mind, but it's handy.

No, I'm not fussed for the menu.

I'm really excited about it, it was a gift from Jen's parents for Christmas so we are both going with her sister Ange and her boyfriend. Lovely day for a trip to Edinburgh as well! I'll report back tomorrow. I actually didn't realise Leith was so well served by top restaurants, apparently there are three there with a star and it's only a wee area that used to be a total dive. Poor Glasgow doesn't have any!

That's my normal problem with them, but sometimes they get it spot on & I can pick 3 courses without resigning myself to something.

Go to Reds for lunch, then go to Almost Famous for dinner.

Goodness me, Fera at Claridges last night. Utterly outstanding. Best tasting and most innovative food I've ever eaten in my life, incredibly cocktails, wine, service. Absolutely flawless, and I've eaten some good food.

That's quite close to me, I've eaten in the pub (forget the name) that's to the left of it (if you were looking at the door of the Fat Duck)

Wasn't impressed with the pub, how much did the Fat Duck cost and how long did you have to wait for the booking??

You are aware I haven't actually been yet? ;)

It's £220 for the tasting menu. If you have a party of 4, there are a few midweek tables available. We only booked last night.

Went to Gaucho last night. Sausages to start then skirt, flank and sirloin marinated different ways. I'd just stick to a single big lump of smoked garlic skirt in future, it was amaze.

But today I feel like crap, so maybe I won't.

Top 100 restaurants in the world, apparently. How many have you been to?

Me, none so far (but that will be fixed after wednesday night and our Fat Duck booking :)) which is a bit disappointing.

Flipping heck. Only three. What have I been doing with my life?

Really not sure I agree with that list, for UK restaurants at least. St John is 55 but L'Enclume isn't even on there?

Can we do this list instead?

http://www.thegoodfoodguide.co.uk/news/ ... ide-top-50

That's only a list of 50 and I score a quite respectable nine ;)

See that "Dinner by Heston Blumenthal " is number 5

I was surprised how quickly you can get a lunch booking for 2 there , you could get a table most of this week.

Even dinner at 7pm there is only a months wait. These are all week days, there aren't any Friday or Saturday nights available.
