Chelsea bastards. If only Barca weren't so tediously obsessed with scoring the perfect goal with 37 passes each time, they could have won.

Is Terry automatically banned for the final, by the way?

They will also be missing Ivanovic, Ramires, and Raul Meireles.

OH MY GOD

I shouted at the TV and everything

John Terry is a knob

But still Bacerlona v Chelsea with JT = 1-0, without = 1-2

Anyway, before the SFs started I said Chelsea and Bayern would win at home, and that they would both draw away.

So 3 out of 3 so far!

I called Chelsea scoring in the 2nd half too.

My love/hate relationship with them continues...

I've loved them since the early 90s, and have hated them since they've sacked too many managers, but they have responded well since AVB has been sacked, and that game was amazing!

And to be honest FUCK YOU MESSI! FUCK YOU VERY MUCH!

because he is the best striker in the world and has yet to score against Chelsea, and missed a penalty too because he didn't shoot the way I told him to.

What a game that was! Chelsea were immense in defence, and took their chances with aplomb.

Geoff Shreeves is a dick though, fr his interview with the superb Ivanovic.

Chelsea remain the only team Guardiola hasn't beaten.

It chokes me to say it but well done Chelsea, Cech and Drogba were stunning. Having said that once again the commentators seem to think that Barca is made up of seven foot tall footballing supermen with very little reference to the season they've had and the fact that their very small squad (comparatively) is absolutely knackered...which any reference to articles on Spanish football would have pointed out.

Still, it was a smashing game but how many first teamers are going to be available for the final? Oh and the excuse Terry trotted out was hysterically funny...what a pig ignorant arse the man is.

The cheer from the whole restaurant at work last night when messi missed the penalty was brilliant, probably about 40 barca fans compared to about 200 supporting chelsea. Glad to see an english team in the final, shame about england's brave john terry though. Would have loved to see him miss another penalty and cry.

Also nice to see Alex McLeish record the worst home record by any Villa manager ever in their history.

Wait, did I say nice?

The man is a millionaire despite being demonstrably the worst person ever to manage our club. Why do people employ the chump? He'd be out of his depth in the Conference!

Try having Steve Kean as a manager.

There's probably many people who think his name is actually Steve Keanowt

No you wouldn't you'd end up with no senior players left and no defence as they'd be sold as soon as he got there.

Our most senior player is Gabby Agbonlahor, and our best defender is Eric Lichaj. I don't think it would be possible to mess it up further.

Maybe if Villa fans had just taken McClaren when they had the chance this might not have happened and Forest wouldn't be similarly fucked. Nothing against Villa but I do feel slightly better about not being the only club affected by his few months back in the uk.

At least you have Leeds promotion and Man Utd throwing away the title to soften the blow.

And there's still a healthy chance that Anti-football's greatest exponent, Alex McLeish, will lead Villa to the Championship.

I didn't want to say that, but that's what he deserves.

A shame, as I had a lot of time for Villa back when they had Bent and that solid back 5 (most of whom remain, oddly).

Wednesday won yesterday, and United drew. This leaves Wednesday are one point ahead of United. Very tight at the top now.

On Radio 4 this morning, someone said that England only had 3 world class players in the team: Hart, Rooney and A. Cole. Does the forum agree, or disagree with this statement?

I'm happy enough with Woy. Was unlucky with timing at Liverpool, and has done a great job elsewhere. I don't think he'll lead us to Euro glory or anything, but if the manager HAS to be English then he's as good as any.

I'd like to get my comments in early about the unfairness of the play offs, and how a team with 90+ points, who finishs in third, not getting promoted at the expense of a team with 10/18/20 points less than them. They should promote the top three, and drop the bottom three.

Cole hasn't had his best season, but for the past 5+ years he's been one of the best full backs in the world. He's a massive wanker, but he's a world class player.

Disagree. If it were just the top three getting promoted, there'd be far too many meaningless end of season games. The playoffs are great and exciting, and all teams know the rules before the season starts, so can't really complain.

I'm preparing to, just in case. It will be anguished, bitter and heartfelt. I don't count the playoffs as part of the season, anyway. It's the least meritocratic way of promoting teams. If you want playoffs, have them for the antepenultimate and fourth from bottom teams.

It's time the FA ended this blinkered and umeritocratic system.

EDIT: Apart from 2005, as that was fair and just.

I was only 5, so remember nothing else!

Even though it was utterly heartbreaking, last season's semi final 2nd leg at Huddersfield was the most exciting match I've ever been to (including trips to Wembley and Millennium Stadium). There is nothing quite like the playoffs and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Mali: the FA have nothing to do with it. Surely you mean the FL. ;)

Reading about Jermaine Pennant being done for drink-driving (and whilst disqualified too), reminded me of the story I read about his manager who escaped a driving ban as

Quote:
"The people of Stoke-on-Trent could suffer if Mr Pulis lost his licence and lost his job."

I can't say that I have much sympathy.

I always thought that they should have playoffs at the bottom of the league too.

The playoffs have been running for precisely a quarter of a century. So, you know, tough.

Really? Christ, I remember the fuss when they were first brought in!

25 years... bloody hell.

Surely you mean the FL. ;)

There will be sweeping changes once I get into power, believe you me.
