Aw bollocks, I'm going to miss the deadline for my game with Sheepeh. Will try to catch you online as soon as I can (won't be tonight, I'm afraid).

Mr Curio *still* hasn't played me either! ;)

Mr Scarysheep, I pledge that if I am online when you come on, I shall wait until the end of the game I am playing and come play SWOS with you, get royally owned, and cry.

Do feel free to message-me-do if you want to poke me, though.

I'm actually unavailable until Sunday.

I'll play you then, or on Tuesday before the CoD war.

:)

Ramsea (Zombies)- Romanista (Emotions) 0-2

We played a friendly before with me as the professionals, which is a far better team(a 5* and a few 4.5*s), but the tempo didn't really work for me and Ramsea won with an impressive 3-1.

The actual game was with the even Zombie-Emotion duel. Romanista went ahead after only 6 minutes, with an easy goal by Gutted. The rest of the first half all had about the same chances. In the second half Romanista just created a few more chances and it wasn't a surprise Piteous scored 2-0 in the 77th minute. Ramsea tried to do a Turkey, but his Zombies were to tired.

Very competitve game, proud to have won..

Congrats again mate.

Very close game and I was gutted that "gutted" scored that easy goal on 6 mins.

I hate how random the keepers can be on this game tho. They save the ones they shouldnt and dont save the ones they should...I suppose it evens out eventually, but its annoying all the same.

I dont think 3 mins is long enough and maybe it should be increased for future cups? Thats my opinion anyway.

I havent played many of the other people on here at SWOS but I think Romaninsta will be in with a good chance of winning this now....definitely one to watch!

We've still got rounds 5 & 6 to go yet. I'm giving everyone a week's amnesty to get their results in, as I'm away till Wednesday evening anyway.

Sheepeh, we should play our SWOS game at some point instead of constantly playing different games with each other all the time!

Yes, that will be better for me. I can't forsee any complications, and hereby offer to forfeit the match 5-0 if I don't turn up. (Actually, given my performances so far, that might be my best option.)

It's not the winning, but the taking part. *stifles a chuckle*

Seriously though, Curio's good, so don't be too downhearted.

I wasn't last night!

It was a good game. We both had chances, and our keepers were by far the best players.

Sheepeh, you must now beat Scarysheep!

Runcle 1-0 myoptika
myoptika 1-0 Runcle

After a comfortable friendly 2-0 win by myp, he managed to contrive to get his star defender sent off in the first 10 minutes of the first game. Two extremely tight games lead to two tight results. Everything to play for in Group D.

Bugger... I have the 3 red lights!!

I've called Microsoft and they're going to fix it but it means I'll be without my Xbox 360 for 3 weeks! Sorry....

Rubbish isn't it?

Sega would never do this.

Mark X and myself played the final two games of our groups. First we played a classic friendly, with me as the forumites and him as the emotions. I took an early lead with two goals by Craig. Two goals by piteuous (one before, one after half time made it equal). Craig scored again, he equalised and took the lead 4-3. Ten minutes before time I equalised as well. 4-4! I couldn't get to grips with at all.

MarkX (Zombies) - Romanista (Emotions) 1-0
Mark took the lead after 13 minutes, and even though his gamertag is broken (tv), i couldn't find a way to get in. We both got some chances, but somehow i never felt i could recover.

Romanista (AFC Ajax) - Mark X (Liverpool FC) 2-2
The ajax system suited me a little better, but I still had difficulty against this formation, osme of my standard tricks didn't work (and I was getting a bit desperate, with sweaty fingers on my xbox joypad, i should have used my Hori). He scored 1-0 after 23 minutes, and 2-0 just after half time. But them somehow I retook my cool. Litmanen scored immediately after a trade-mark wing attack, and the rest of the second half I recovered my game, and scored 2-2 a ten minutes before time. The game could have gone eitherway afterwards, but my point was saved.

a sigh of relief followed, especially when Mark X mailed me this meant he had 4 points, and I had qualified for the semi final. A relaxing Holland-Wales followed, with a another tie (1-1), showing how close our battles were...

Shame Swos hasn't a function where you all could have watched, as this were some of the most intense games I ever played on Swos (and shows that it is still the best 2 player, and best football game in the history of mankind)

Mark X - can you confirm that your 6-2 drubbing by Ramsea stands as a result? It wasn't published as a fixture until yesterday, so I'll need confirmation.

(what are the rules in case of us both having 7 ponits anyway?)

Yes, it certainly does count as a result (despite the temptation to try and strike my abject performance from the SWOS record books).

A cracking match indeed, and a game worthy of any tournament. As might be clear from my results, I've been putting in a bit of practice after my drubbings by Ramsea. I wasn't wholly sure it wasn't a 'proper' match, as I think the mic on my headset is playing up, so Romanista couldn't hear me asking. It's a real shame XBLA SWOS doesn't allow for saving highlights like the Amiga original.

To be fair to Romanista, this match could easily have gone either way, with some cracking saves by the Zombie 'keeper (and some shameful hoofing the ball into touch at every opportunity in the last ten minutes by me).

I was glad of the point at the end of this, as Ajax clearly had the momentum the get more goals at the end. Plus, with it being the 1996 Liverpool side, there was every chance my defence would wander off to appear in a Louise video or give an interview to Loaded magazine. So I'm happy with my four points - I was worried I'd end up as the Derby County of this group of death.

I'm tempted to make a point here that me picking Wales wasn't sheer arrogance on my part after getting some decent results in the previous two matches, it was a genuinely good Welsh side. Southall only just past his best in goal, a choice of Imperial Phase Dean Saunders, Mark Hughes and John Hartson Before He Got Fat up front, a tyro Ryan Giggs out left, Gary Speed running the centre of midfield... but I'd only bore everyone so I won't.

If you are about and don't see me online, send me an Xbox message - it'll ping it up on my Desktop as I use an Xbox messenger to see who's online without actually loading the Xbox.

As for a bung...£2 should do it.

Fo' sho'. Especially now I've got back 'in the zone' with SWOS, and it's nice to play against people pleasant enough not to quit when they go two goals down like many of the Great XBL Unwashed.

Congratulations to Romanista for being the first of our qualified semi-finalists. Well played also to Ramsea and Mark X.

It's only fair we wait for you. We did the same with Runcle and I someone else has a problem with their Xbox, too.
