Think you have been more than fair really, if he said "no its your turn to buy shoes" you would have known where you stood and dealt with it, he said yes though and should have followed through.

Maybe better to try and iron it out if you can, people can be forgetful at times and I would hope the delay was that?

In our house it tends to be my wife who forgets, we put our son down for a fee paying school over 2 years ago as demand is very high. I found a letter yesterday that was 2 weeks old confirming his place for September but also saying that if they didn't get confirmation by the end of today that we wanted the place, they would give his place to the first child on the waiting list, so had to sort that out this morning :)

In other cockwomble news, I was hoping to have an update on my neighbours, ideally them moving out, but it seems they're still together and him hitting his future mother-in-law hasn't made a dent on the relationship. Still, at least they're quieter than they were before, although it's perhaps just the calm before the next inevitable storm.

Then, they split up and move out, leaving D-Dog to enjoy his house in peace. It's not an ideal solution from her point of view, granted, but, then, we're working to an end goal here where everyone is happy in the long term.

Work has started offering BMI, Blood pressure and cholesterol tests.

So I went along today, was under no illusions about BMI as done no exercise for the best part of 2 months with Xmas slobbery plus a flue bug that's take 5 weeks to get rid of. Was happily surprised to see I was just hanging on in the overweight section :)

Blood pleasure a bit high, but they said I would need it doing again

Cholesterol was a bit odd, the nurse has two machines and said they were a bit off with readings. She said that if you got more than 5 on one of them then I should see my GP for some more accurate tests. I get a 4.09 and 5.68. the good reading was 1.04.

So have Dr calling me to arrange tests, I'm overweight and need to get my shit together, bit worried now though. My younger brother has to take some pills for his, but he has a big arsed city job and is out eating and making merry with clients most of the week.

I bet they give you statins as that's what my dad takes and he's back to normal now. They tried doing diet only and even though he shifted some weight his cholesterol didn't come down at all.

Good that they've caught it early.

They won't give you statins for a 5.68. They'll tell you to sort your diet out and come back in a year.

I don't know if its even that high, one reading was 4 so I could be fine :)

My brother said his was 7.8 due a thyroid issue, now its 3.2 but he said he aches a lot more since taking the statins all the time.

Do this readings get affected by the last few weeks worth of food or are they over a longer time?

I've been eating more crappy food during 3-4 weeks as I couldn't be arsed when ill with flu, also my wife is having a big meal at lunchtime so quite often I just have to feed myself so to speak.

He had a heart attack in the passenger seat so at least it wasn't messy or anything, just a bit sad. I've dealt with fatalities before but never given CPR, it gives you a lot of contact and time with the person which was the slightly jarring thing. Also extracting him from the car, just weird but obviously it has to be done.

Yeah absolutely you are. I expect there would be extensive form filling and time from my life lost however so it's rarely the sort of thing anyone subscribes to. Comrade support and black humour are what I find most useful. And getting very drunk (which I can't do for reasons I shall post in the yay thread). Actually writing it down feels pretty good too. The fact is I signed up for exactly this sort of thing, I was there when needed and did the right things, the fact that there wasn't a positive outcome is a bummer but the sadness is tempered somewhat. I'll happily do it all again.

A minor, but annoying nay. Had two orders placed using my Domino's account yesterday for £100 worth of pizza by someone other than me. Spoke to Natwest and I need to wait till the transaction complete tomorrow before I can start the fraud process.

I'm not sure if the people who do this realise that Domino's order confirmation emails have the person's name and address on there, so I know where the pizzas were delivered.

I have now. Only to see if the two addresses are close to each other (they are). They're in Liverpool so I'm not exactly going to pop round and ask for the money back. I wonder if there's some mail spam I could sign them up for though ;)

I wouldn't actually go through with it for that reason. From what the bloke on the phone told me this morning, when I report it tomorrow, Natwest will refund me the money while it gets sorted out, so hopefully it should be a minor inconvenience. Although had it been nearer the end of the month, I'd have been screwed.
