Nah, it falls into little pebbly bits that aren't sharp (or as sharp as shards of glass, at least).

I'm only claiming for the windscreen anyway, with the excess it's not worth me claiming for the trainers - I'll just pay the £100 to replace them. It's certainly been an expensive couple of months. ?:|

£100?!?! What? Were they gold?

I almost cried at paying £40 for those ones I linked to, because SASHIKO. You should get some Sashiko trainers and then you'll have £60 for gin.

I think this is the first time I've paid more than £12 for trainers. £100?!

I'd expect to be able to run like Usain Bokt for £100. I could buy you s whole rainbow of trainers for £100. Come with me, I'll take you to Asda Living.

I got them for running so they needed to be properly supportive (Asics Duomax) although I need supportive shoes anyway. I have to have men's too because I'm a size nine, that always puts the cost up a stupid amount (like the reverse of pink razors).

I've only done a quick search anyway to see if it was worth claiming - it isn't. I've picked some up for just over £50 in the past I'm sure, so will shop around when I get a chance.

Certainly more places are carrying them, such as Asda. But they are the generic fashion shoe, not overly supportive unfortunately. They of course have their place though. :)

My wife has to wear men's shoes mostly because she has size 10 feet, she is resigned to this.

I can imagine my daughter will also have difficulty getting female shoes in 10 years or so (I'm size 11/12 depending on brand) if they don't address that issue.

When you go to a running shop and get gait analysis to see what trainers best suit you, I find there is seldom a pair for under £70 ;)

Good thing to get done if you are running at lot though.

Author:  markg [ Wed Jun 29, 2016 12:11 ]
Post subject:  Re: The 'NAY!' Thread

I was reading a load of stuff on this that said gait analysis is dodgy science at best and that the best thing you can do is try them on the treadmill at the running shop and buy the ones that feel most comfortable.

Author:  Cras [ Wed Jun 29, 2016 12:26 ]
Post subject:  Re: The 'NAY!' Thread

Gait analysis was super helpful for me. It pointed out that I was overstretching my achilles due to my heel travelling too far. They offered to sell me £120 trainers to fix the issue. I went to another shop and bought some heel lifts for my trainers for six quid.

So basically, get the analysis done for free, but don't buy any of their overpriced remedial trainers.

I had to do this through high school as my mother refused to buy girls shoes for me. That was just great.

Evans and Yours are my go to shops for decent work shoes, I can't just wear fashion shoes as they have no support (they're alright for a night out or something).

Yeah, I think it's about doing your own research. I remember that I used to under pronate as a child and my personal trainer recommend Asics, so I did my own research and tried a few pair on. I've managed to replace my trainers for £55, I'm looking forward to getting them now, they really help.

:(

So this morning I received a copy of the forms that my social worker filled in the other day. It's all fucking wrong.

I've been really worrying myself sick since she came because it all seemed very quick and easy. Seems she flew through the fucking forms taking me at face value which given she's never even fucking met me before has had her basically fuck me up completely.

I phoned the DWP explaining this and at first they were like "Well if you signed the forms" and shit. Thing is I'm so fucking stressed out of my eyeballs at the moment due to losing our flat/taking loads of meds to counter that stress that I was fucking out of it when she filled them in. I should have asked to see them before she rushed off and posted them in but I just didn't.

I've managed to get them to agree to ignore them when they arrive and send me out forms to fill out myself which piles on even more stress and now I'm scared shitless that they're going to forget and take the forms she's sent in and add the info the system.

I think I am going to have to think seriously about admitting myself to the hospital in Chichester. I really don't know how much longer I can take this stress.
