My family is having a shocking time with cancer at the minute. My mum's best friend died suddenly in December from it (about 4 weeks from diagnosis to death) then my mum's brother's wife died equally fast from breast cancer (they've always been close) in March and now my parents dog has terminal liver cancer. The cancer is 10cm and apparently there was more cancer than liver on the ultrasound. If anyone sees me on Twitter/Instagram you might have guessed I dote on my doggies and this is my dog's dad. It's heartbreaking to watch this cute dog that you've spent 12 years fussing and loving just waste away as the cancer eats at him.

Anyway, sorry to hear that GJ. Big ole hugs from me to you. xxx

So very sorry to hear that news, Jazzy, and for yours, Saturnalian.

It sounds like a shock of bad news for you both, and I can't really think of what else to do but offer love and sympathy to each of you.

Wishing you both happy memories of friends and family, including those pets that we count as either xxx

Fucksticks! I had a tiny cracked bit in the top corner of my phone screen after dropping it at the weekend but it was barely noticeable so I wasn't bothered. At some point in the last few hours that's turned into a big crack across the screen starting from that original smashed bit. It's still not that noticeable but because I know it's there it's now annoying the shit out of me. This is the first time I've broke the screen on any phone I've ever owned. :(

Just be careful if you don't have a screen protector on, Bamba. My workfriend cracked her iPhone screen the other day and cut her hand nastily.

Thanks guys, to add insult to injury it turns out that my Mother knew she was that ill, she just hadn't bothered to tell me despite me asking her to keep me informed. >:|

I hate families sometimes. :(

Funeral a week on Friday for my aunt (been a while since I've been to Essex). Just waiting to find out when Jess' is now. Work has been weird today. Somebody thought it was a nice idea to stick A4 colour photos of Jess next to the 'Notice to staff' as you enter the establishment. That upset a lot of people that weren't expecting it (myself included). Not much work has gone on today. I can't see tomorrow being much different. Will say we are being looked after though, management have been brill. The whole care team have come in even on their time off and we have a cousellor drafted in. No real work expected off us any time soon either. Back to a full compliment of staff tomorrow (today was a privilege day, so just skeleton staff really). Expecting more tears and hugs. ?:|

Dropped my wife and son off at LHR this morning as she is going to Dublin for a week to see her parents

Normally a Yay moment for me as I get to have time to catch up in the garden and watch TV she doesn't like.

However this morning I was feeding my son his breakfast in his high chair and telling him he was going on a plane (he knows what these are and has a noise for them)

He leaned forward to get hold of me and I though he was being an imp and wanting out of the chair.

He then gaves my a big random hug :) Followed by another one 5 minutes later

So pissed all over my Yay long weekend and I miss him already >:|

Wow. Just found out that my great aunt was murdered and cut into pieces.

I'd never have guessed it was my great aunt because her real surname is Finnis.

But yeah, total and utter nay.

I only found out today. I don't use Facebook any more, but this morning mum noticed a post from my aunt saying how they'd just held the funeral.

It's weird. Like, really weird. You always see this sort of thing on the news and read about it in books but you never ever expect it to happen to some one you know.

And that comes from some one who has read probably close to a hundred books about serial killers and so on.

Heh. First few days were 'yay peace and quiet'.

Day 3-4 I started to miss them a bit.

Last night my ex screamed at my little lad (he was being mischievous) while I was on the phone to them and it took every ounce of my willpower to not drive all the way to Wales and bring them home. (I got drunk and pretended it wasn't happening instead.)

One more day, one more day.

I haven't seen her since I was about 7. Once my aunt died of a stroke (I was about two when that happened) that side of the family sort of faded out. Mum says she was a lovely lady though :(

My sons birthday in 3 weeks so I called up a local cake company to order him a digger cake

Only to be told I need to give them 8 weeks notice and the earliest they could do a cake is a month after his birthday :(

So home made option with toy diggers on it, I looked as some YouTube videos on how to make a digger cake and its well out of our league!

First lesson in birthday organisation learnt!

Have your tried deep heat? I pulled my shoulder blade earlier in the week, I was ok at work but when sleeping the pain would wake me up at 3am. Sprayed some of that on Thursday night and pain gone!

No. I am fairly miserable over it all. There was loads of stuff I wanted to do this weekend, too. Instead I have drunk sugar and salt solutions and run to the bog.

Eurgh, Tunisia.

Made me go through some emails between me and the wife from October last year. We were planning on going to Al Hammamet (about 10 miles down the road) this month. Then things changed so we couldn't. Almost a good thing.

Went there 25 years ago for a week on my own, really enjoyed it.

Shooting unarmed people who work hard to save all year for 2 weeks on a beach is pretty fucking low.

Would guess this will fuck Tunisia up as a holiday destination for years now, plenty of other cheap sunny places that don't have maniac gunmen.

Are there though? Many/most of the cheapest sunny spots are either predominantly Muslim countries or are right next to them and it only takes one or two deranged people to pull of something like this.

You couldn't get me to one of these places on a bet, or if you paid me large amounts of money.

My brother went to Turkey recently, 'Hope you make it back alive' was the message I sent him on Facebook.
