No further operation required at the moment, he says it is a pretty nasty clot but on balance he'd like to give my body the opportunity to get rid of it instead of operating to get it out.

The bleeding isn't a bad sign in that it means my body is working on getting rid of the clot, he says some will be absorbed and some will be expelled, he also said don't be surprised if you get some substantial discharges from it over the next 4-8 weeks. Yes it's going to be sore and yes it's going to hurt, but he thinks my body is getting the job done.

So I've been prescribed more antibiotics to prevent the risk of infection (I've already had one course), take Ibuprofen three times a day, and don't do anything that causes me pain or discomfort. I'm also not allowed to drive until such time as I can perform an emergency stop as otherwise my insurance is invalid as I'm not deemed to be in full control of the vehicle.

I also need to carry on wearing supportive clothes (he says my badminton shorts are ideal) and keep a gauze down there to catch the blood/discharges.

He wants to see me again next Tuesday to check things are progressing without issue. But basically, as long as it doesn't get infected, in 4-8 weeks it should sort itself out, and he advised me to 'walk like an Egyptian' :D

I went to the docs a few years ago thinking I had testicular torsion.

Turns out I had something similar (the name of which escapes me), but fortunately not testicular torsion itself, where the plums turn alarmingly plum-coloured and effectively die.

Mate of mine had torsion. They had to cut his sack open, staple his nut into place to stop it twisting, then sew him back up again.

What did they staple it to? His leg?

Jesus.

Friend of a friend had to get his 'bollock wires' untwisted. Very painful by all accounts, dropped to his hands and knees when it happened.

And finally, Markg and I were once told about a lad who earned the nickname Womble* after climbing up a flagpole to untangle a flag then sliding down it and getting snagged on the rope hook.

*One ball.

Suspect urban myth, as I have heard this story told quite often.

Seemed to be an eyewitness account from the way it was told.

And, I've remembered another tale...

I remember a tale of someone who dislocated their leg and when the doctors pushed it back in the socket, a bollock went in there first and got crushed.

Not sure whether it's true as I heard it years ago but it sounded realistic at the time.

it's a great story. Didn't the guy rupture his vocal chords with the screaming?

It's probably not true, but it's a great story.

I sent a letter to them once, and it was published.

So that one was true, at least.

There can't be a sensible answer to this if the entire thing's made up; and it almost certainly is.

My brother text me this morning to let me know that one of our old friends was found dead yesterday. It was all alcohol related as he'd had problems for a good number of years.

I played in a band with him for a good number of years so It's very shocking and upsetting. I think he would have been about 42.

Remember my old friend that had passed away ? I've just spoke to my brother about the funeral arrangements and he's also talking about a one night reunion of the remaining members of the band in his honour. That'll be a good way to send him off I reckon.

Yeah, you should do that.

My minor nay was drilling holes for a TV bracket in our bedroom and going through to my sons room. Three times.

:D

All fixed now.

Went to Dublin Sunday night for a meeting Monday out our office there

Was booked on a 7pm flight last night that was cancelled as Heathrow can't cope with a bit of wind apparently.

Was rebooked on a 9pm which was further delayed and got home at 11.30pm

BA are so shit, was onto there support line for an hour trying to sort the rebooked flight despite their text messages saying all I had to do was go online and confirm the new flight (which didn't work)

I hate traveling for work :(

6.5 Billion in fines for banks after they have been caught rigging foreign exchange rates

Not one person even charged never mind jailed

As for fines that's a real punishment for an organisation that deals with money and nothing else

Banking is about the same as the US Mafia was prior to the crackdowns in the 1980's they can do what the fuck they like and get away with it.

The banking Industry globally has paid $232 Billion in misconduct fines since 2009!

Apparently I need Bailey's.

Sorry for the vagueness before, kids around.

I drove to Stoke earlier today to collect Chloe. On my way I got a call from my manager at work to let me know that one of my work friends has been killed in a car accident on her way to work this morning (she was due to get married next month).

Just before posting in this thread I had a text off my Mother telling me my aunt died this morning. I wasn't expecting that either. :(

Life is short people. Tell those who you love that you do and live it to the full when you can. Xxx
