I had a massive migraine yesterday which made me physically sick... Nice. I've called in sick today which is a shame as I don't mind my job and it's not like I can sit playing games all day as my head is wonky.

Sorry to hear that. Migraines are a horrible thing to deal with at work :(

I was sent home from work yesterday, too. After I fainted on a Thursday I returned yesterday but came out in a rash at about 11:30am, so they sent me home.

I'm eating a yoghurt in bed and reciting lines from Jabberwocky with the nice lady from The Great British Sewing Bee on Twitter whilst knitting.

I should be halfway up the motorway towards Edinburgh airport right now to catch a flight to Basel for a long weekend. Yesterday morning though I started feeling pretty dodgy and its just got worse since then so we're staying at home. Fucksticks. :(

I had 3 Goldfish and 3 Shubunkin in my pond for the last 4 years

They had bred and I had 6 other fish as well, I wasn't that sure what these were as they stay jet black for several years

A couple of weeks ago the Goldfish went grabbed by a Herron, then last weekend end I did the spring cleaning on the pond.

The result was that the water was clearer afterwards and the next day every fish had gone

Was very proud of my fish and that they had babies, well pissed off now

Sorry to hear that mate; once a Heron discovers your pond, with fish in it, you're screwed basically. :(

We've got a brook running around the house and there's always one of these huge, majestic birds silently waiting to pull out a trout or chubb, which they often do. That's fine of course, but I'd be well pissed in your situation.

My Dad had the same issue. They bought a big, fuck off ornamental heron and stuck it by the side of the pond. It seemed to do the trick.

Fucking cold I've had for over a week now. My voice has been croaky for a while but when my work phone just rang I picked it up but was completely unable to make any noises that sounded like actual words. I had to just hang up and then email them to apologise. :D

A friend of a friend has bought a house for an investment and wants to rent it out. The house has a pond and fish and he wants rid of it all as he feels a pond will put familys with small children off.

So once it goes though I can have 10 decent sized goldfish and a good pond pump for nothing so maybe a bit of Yay coming on!

Some kind of netting wouldn't be a bad idea though, to stop the birds taking the fish. Also, don't you have a baby, asfish or am I confusing you with someone (anyone) else?

I found something on Ebay that comes with really good fixings that go into rock and or the ground. If fitted correctly the net be so tight that if my son fell into the pond the net would act a bit like a trampoline and he would just stay there above the water.

Thing is I would far rather rip this small pond out and put in a 1500 litre one with a wall and fence around it, I have the space, electrics and the cash, but my wife is so anti pond.

When I was 7 and my youngest brother 3 we lived on a farm of 30 acres that my dad had as a hobby. We were kicked out by my mum each Saturday morning to go and play whilst she cleaned the house and did other jobs, the farm had 6 pounds, one of which was 150 foot long. None of us ever drowned although my brother holds the record for 8 changes of clothes in one day due to getting wet playing in one of the smaller ones.

Too much mollycoddling of kids these days, although I would never want my son to come to any pond related harm.

The land was mixed, we had maybe 40% was Ok grazing, 20% was a brilliant hay field that had wild flowers in the summer. 20% was a field full of small rocks and grass and the last 20% was a marsh\reed field where the big pond was.

My dad had a day job and over the years we had sheep, cows, chickens turkeys geese etc.

It was in the middle of nowhere in the Yorksire Dales, in the winter we would get snowed in, one year my dad walked 12 miles around trip each night to feed his animals for 2 weeks. He could only get to within 6 miles of the farm by road as the snow was so bad.
