My entire post was:

"Hodor"

To which my sister-in-law reacted with a sad face. That was all that was needed really. Sorry.

Just remembered Brienne's short summation of Jon Snow. Superb!

I'm not afeared of how much I like Brienne. Clearly I need to avoid getting attached to any GoT characters every again.

Not to mention Direwolves. Not many of them left.

2 remain, or 3 if you think that Shaggydog is actually alive and they faked his death as a ploy to defeat Ramsay.

And 1 of those has been AWOL since, like, season 1.

Also, no bugger in Castle Black remembers they have FUCKING GIANTS when they discuss their army. I'd be making them some shin pads and getting a piggy back over to Kings Landing to kick their shit up.

I was about to blame your bandwidth, but it turns out there were five people using it at the same time as you last night.

It was fine at my house, which sadly means it was an upstream issue, and adding more server grunt isn't going to help.

More of a set up one after the emotion of last week.

The High Sparrow story makes me want to shout at them to move the story on a bit faster. Also, have the Lannisters forgotten about the Martells killing their daughter/sister?

I have to assume that at some point Sam/Gilly will be pivotal to the story. I like them, so I don't mind watching them, and he does have a Valeryian Steel blade, so that's interesting, but it's a lot less apocalyptic than the rest of the show!

Dany dragons meh.

Bran and Benjen has potential. They keep on showing the Mad King shouting 'burn them all'. Is Bran going to cause that in some time travel walker mixup?

Nice to see mad bastard Walder Frey still raging it up.

It'll be interesting to see how Arya takes out the significantly more skilled assassin. And assuming she does so, whether the Faceless Men will follow her back to Westeros.

Please please please have a Jon Snow origin story flashback Bran Flakes, PLS. As satisfying as it is to watch you fall from that tower over and over, I need something juicy to justify your colossal screwing over of Hodor.

Can someone explain to me why loads of people exploded over Jaime Lannister riding a horse up stairs, apparently this a big deal in the horse fandom idk I hate horses.

Horses are notoriously scared of going downstairs.

This dates back to Roman times when Julius Caesar slaughtered all the horses on the ground floor, but let those staying upstairs stay alive.

in my experience horses can go up stairs and steep banks quite efficiently, but in the scene the other night the stunt was particularly fluid, which made it sexy, in the same way when Legolas swung under the horse and onto its back, or surfed down the stairs on his shield. Stairs and horses are sexy castle things, see? Anyway, horses can descend stairs (unlike cows) but they aren't so sure of their footing, and their heavy heads Sen to make them wary. What happens then is that some panic and try to jump, and if a large staircase this can be very dangerous. A few steps down will rarely be an issue, though. It was a sizeable staircase in the episode, though.

It's quite easy for them to slip and bash their shins to bits and then fall over in a wailing mess of hooves. The same can be said of any stone surface at speed (you'll rarely see a horse going along a road at anything more than a trot), although obviously stairs are more complicated than a road.

Mr Russell wrote:

It could, but not as fast. They myth that horses and cows can't go down stairs is just that - a myth.

The fact that it went up them at such a rate is fucking seriously impressive - even with rubber shoes for grip. Good horse.

Lovely Grim... Is there no way that someone as intelligent as you can put buttons on the mobile forum for quotes and spoilers, etc?

I always mess them up because I am tired/clumsy and am worried that I might accidentally show people something they are Saving for later.

Don't say that. It spoils it.

You'll be saying the dragon bits aren't filmed with real dragons, next.

What, and dwarf man is really 6ft 2"?

It'd be easier to just draw the horse entirely, I'd imagine.

But it (apparently) was a real horse and rider (with Jamie's face mapped on), and done on the steps of Girona Cathedral.

At that speed it'd be no different to riding up a hill (unless it crashed), I doubt. You just pray more before setting off.

And go unshod. I saw a horse in new shoes go up a steep concrete slope once, panic and try to increase pace, and I still feel s bit ill about it now. I was only young and it was frightening as all crumbs.

So the horses wellies were cgi'ed out?

Should have just sprayed them gold and stuck some wings on them.

A-ha! Thought I recognised the location. Went there last year. It was unbelievably hot and there are stairs to all the ramparts around the city. My friend and I had to have a look, but the laydees stayed in the shade.
