I thought that was superb. Especially Aargh. And Tyrion's counsel.

What a fucking episode!

I also bloody love the casting of Pope lookalike Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow, who is basically the Pope.

Plus JP is always awesome in everything. One of my favourite actors.

That final scene was epic though. They finally got their fight choreography groove back.

Also, the beautiful wildling lady in it was excellent.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Shame it was obvious she would die once we saw her kids, which was kinda lazy of them, but she managed to be an awesome character in just a couple of minutes of screen time.

"My ancestors would too... but they're dead, so fuck 'em!"

I suspect that all of the good choreographers were busy with this fight, and they had interns do the Dorne stuff.

It was another fairly meh episode until the last 20 mintues or so. It has, overall, been a lacklustre series compared to the others.

The choreography at the end had some very good moments in it, but there were a few bits that made very little sense. And they'd also clearly watched World War Z recently.

Really, very little of substance has happened in this series. Daenyreys has sat on her arse quelling rebellion and being angsty about her dragons. Tyrion has drunk a lot and finally met her. Jun Snuh brought the wildlings on board as allies. What's her name has started training to be a faceless ninja. Jamie has gone to Dorne and been captured. Sansa got ferried around a bit and eventually raped. Stannis got to Castle Black and then went south a bit, but hasn't done anything. Tum te tum really. For 8 episodes it isn't much.

The girl in the prison had fantastic tits though, so it's got that going for it, which is nice.

Right at the end, I said aloud 'This is going to need Dragon intervention', and then about 10 seconds later, Dragon. Haha!

that was amazing! The tension just ramped right up and I was literally crouching on the edge of my sofa. I can't believe how much stuff happened in that episode and we didn't even see some other people's storylines at all!

the burning of his daughter and refusal to turn back showed very well that Stannis has crossed the Rubicon. I expect his army to get to Winterfell and hammered as the witch lady scarpers. Poor Onion Knight, though. I think he will take the black out of grief.

Tyrion continues to survive on luck alone it seems, and The Mercenary was god trying to show off. Old Beard Knight could be redeemed or at least exiled, again.

Jon Snuh is being a bit too much of the reluctant hero for me.

Question:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
How contagious is that thing Ser Friendzone has? He said you had to avoid being touched by the stone men, which he failed to do. I don't recall seeing him touch Tyrion since, but they certainly focused on him touching Dany.
Might they unwittingly unleash a plague? Or is his not the contagious type?

The reaction has been interesting. Watching it I really thought it was a bit much, and was so horrible, though it had exactly the desired effect. It really sticks, it changes your opinion of someone; it tells a damn good story.

What is interesting is that we've seen children killed before, and people burned before, and even children burned before. What made this worse? Was it that we had thought Stannis to be 'good'? That it was her father? That we knew and liked the child? Her screams? Or a bit of all of the above?

It does a good job of showing you how a little context can make you care so much more about someone, and be so much more appalled by an act done in the context of the familiar.

a) what the fuck who burns their kid?
b) why could a few leeches from Gendry's dick work but we need an entire child here?
c) I saw a screencap and Jorah uses his non-crusty hand to touch Daenerys.
d) I get BOOKRAGE every time they show the world's greatest warriors die to people who somehow smuggled giant golden masks into the arena. (How much do they cost? Weren't they doing a bag search? Pubs sometimes even do bag searches. Pure amateurs).
e) Didn't Daenerys find the dragon rather spiky?
f) The show is setting us up to think that Arya will be pedo-fodder and then kill "Ser Meryn Trant" (I had to looke thate spylling uppe), but I bet sexy Jesus makes her not do it as part of the test. ps, what kind of shit assassin poisons the cockles in broad daylight whilst making eye contact with the mark? Infact, given that he always eats from this cart, I sure hope that it's a slow acting poison that isn't affected by vinegar and she's long gone by the time he dies
g) AND FINALLY, watch this

I imagine because

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Melisandre is doing something different. She used Gendry to summon a shadow assassin ghost thing, which seemingly needed a few leeches. Whatever she's doing now it needs to get an army out of the snow and then win a fight. That seems like a bigger deal. Makes sense it needs a bigger sacrifice.

think Stannis has made many errors:

1) Hanging his guards: His army are cold, hungry and more than likely pissed off. He isn't going to win a discipline competition by doing that.

2) Sending Onion Knight away: He now has no balance against RedWitchNiceTits.

3) BBQing his lass: His men looked piss ed off with it and didn't really join in with enthusiasm. His wife changed her mind and he looks to have misgivings.

4) Pushing forwards: With a hungry, demoralised army who isn't sure of the decisions being made, picking a fight with a Misfit that can travel through time isn't the best idea.

Dragon Lady has a similar problem with a bold rebellious element in her cities and a dwindling number of troops bolstered by mercenaries.

I think it'd be nice if Jon Snow and Done meet up and rule together, even though it will be Dragon lady.

Aye, "Fuck!" indeed.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
That whole section with Cersei was pretty hard to watch and, while I realise the point was to properly rub in how harrowing an experience it was, I think it went on a bit long and became pretty fucking nauseating.

Also, what as the ring that Daenerys dropped off her finger at the sight of the Dothraki horde? I'm guessing her wedding ring from Drogo? Wouldn't that make her more likely to be treated well by the Dothraki? I'm saying that while realising I can't really remember how things were left between her and the Dothraki as it was all so long ago.

Well:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I'm guessing she dropped the ring to leave as a trail, assuming that people would follow to look for it. Some confirmation she was there.

Jun Snuh is dead. Sadface, and a really shitty way to go. I can't help but think what happened to all those that voted for him in the first place? They all turned against him? Every one?

The funny thing about Cercei is that there have been multiple opportunities for the character to be nude over the series, and I rather assumed the lack of it was because the actress had stipulated no nude scenes as some do. So seeing her *very* full frontal was a bit of a shock, and aye it did go on far too long.

The bit with Aria seemed super super rushed. They could have cut out 5 minutes of Cercei tits and expanded on that a bit more.

Seems like the lord of light is full of shit, and the Priestess looked very harrowed and shaken by the end. Is Stannis dead? We've seen Lord of Light people resurrected before now.

A good finale in the sense that there were elements of shock and lots of questions to be answered now.

Last 3/4 ? episodes 6 and 7 were fairly dull.

Goodness me.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I have trouble believing that Jun Snuh is properly dead. Though he might be. He certainly leaves you guessing!

We know that the followers of the Lord of Light can resurrect people, as Dennis Pennis was doing it a few series ago. Will Melisandre come and save Jon?

Also, is Stannis proper dead? I hate it when they almost but not quite show such things.

Hurrah for Theon! Finally!

Re: Danaerys, I think that she was initially disowned by them, but from the looks of things they have gathered a whole effing ton of them, so I can only imagine that they have united to follow her.

Or not. I dunno. I find her distinctly less interesting than most of the other characters.

Tyrion and Varys are ace.

Cersei's scenes were pretty shocking. I really thought the second she was safe she was going to get the guards to kill the 'nun', as she had promised. It did go on a loooong time, and I think that her nudity was all the more shocking by how she had not done so before. Perhaps a little too long though.

NEW, IMPROVED, SUPER MUTANT MOUNTAIN!!!

I thought the kiss that killed the Clare Danes lookalike Lannister was a little telegraphed, but needs must, etc.

Series took a while to get the pieces in place, but the last three episodes have certainly been proper 'Event TV'!

previous 3 or 4, sat, that's back to 6. I wasn't counting 10... ;)

The Juh Snuh thing, I can't remember if that's what happened in the books? Or Stannis's denoument, for that matter.
