Bran differences in the book ahead:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
1) Rikkon never goes with Bran beyond the wall.
2) They never meet a living soul once they go beyond the wall. They certainly don't get captured.
3) Bran and co get escorted by a "good" White Walker (sub-check please)
4) The Dreadfort guy (sub-check please) doesn't learn that Bran is alive after the farmer's boys are burned alive by Theon in Bran and Rikkon's place. Theon never gives that information up, as far as I remember.
5) Some stupid shit about trees.

subcheck: 4 is incorrect

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
1. Is the same in the show? He never went beyond the wall but buggered off with Oshra or whatever her name is (Twonk from Harry Potter).

4. The person who captured the kids and killed them with Theon was Reek. Infact I think it was said that it was even Reek's idea? And Reek of course turned out to be Ramsay. So whilst it's never stated in the books, or maybe it is, I'd assume Roose Bolton is told my Ramsay what happened.

1) Why did I think Rikkon was with them then? Stupid brain.

4) Interesting. I could do with some kind of link to the GoT Wiki perhaps. I distinctly remember in Season 2 (not least cause I only watched it the other day) of the telly programme that one of the Ironborn suggests this to Theon. In the books, I do remember that Reek was with them and Reek also assists tracking the Starks (cause he's said to be a dab hand) but can't recall whether Reek suggested killing the farmer's boys or was there for that bit. What I can remember was reading a passage or three where Theon is saying in his head that he will never tell the Boltons about the Stark boys being live.

...I think.

I accidentally clicked a spoiler yesterday because I'd scrolled down before the page finished loading.

I clicked the screen, and it jumped back up and oh my god my finger is over a spoiler. Oh no it was too late to stop my muscles hitting the screen and it expanded and oh god shut my eyes quick and scroll away away away.

In summary :this:

As the show starts to diverge from the plot of the books, I am interested to learn of the differences, as long as they're not actively spoilery. None of the above are, really.

I'm glad they kept The Hound. He's by far my favourite character.

I wasn't overly fussed with the swordplay though, which seemed a bit amateur-dramatics-ish.

I loved this week's episode, I think it was one of the best, but:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
what is going on with Shae's face? Is it my imagination, my screen or does her face look completely different? Her nose looks like there is a lump missing from it or something.

I thought that too, I think it was the make up, she was made to look drawn and pale, with hollow cheeks.

There's a bum that's always drunk and trying to steal stuff from the nearest supermarket to my house that looks like a cross between lord Tywin, Ser Davos and Ser Jorah.

He's a very handsome man.

I much preferred episode 7 over 6 (although they were both awesome). Episode 7 had lots of great performances that I thought have been lacking this series and bounced around the different characters who each, in turn, were fabulous. Even sour face Sansa.

Arya and The Hound have been the highlight for me this year though.

BUT WHERE IS THIS WEEKS EPISODE!?

I don't think we'll see anything that violent again on a TV show in a loooong time.

I am mildly traumatised. Eye gouging really makes me shudder, to say nothing of head-imploding splatter. The fact that such a gruesome event is also tied to the fate of another much-loved character just adds to the OH FUCK ME of it.
