I thought Emilia Clarke said she wouldn't do another nude scene?

Actually, I've noticed people that only watch the TV show tend to know her as Khalissi. Which amuses me

She's got a pouty mouth that makes it look like she has perma-tache and she also has small sideways boobs. I don't get the lust. (Not saying I wouldn't, but she's not first pick of the GOT cast)

I wonder if it'll ever show an odd number?

A lot of shows do this, and almost treat the entire first season as a pilot.
Comes from the stupid American tradition of "sweeps week" I think (see also: each season having a fucking massive gap in the middle which we used to be insulated from because the UK only started showing stuff a few years in) - seasons start a couple of months before, most are cancelled in the sweeps, and the rest continue. Except it doesn't make sense to make/contract more episodes in case you get swept.

It used to be more like 14 episode first seasons though.

Series one is about £12 to buy. it's worth it. About a £1 an hour of entertainment and it cuts all the boring shit out of the books.

Presumably you also wouldn't blame a tv channel for something someone wrote in a book 13 years ago. Fuck sake internet.

Rob Stark's final death fall. That was a bit cartoony. Catelyn's face after killing the wife was terrifying. It looked like her heart had turned to stone.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It is the plot of many books where one of the protagonists gets their whole family killed and loses all of their lands, so it's not much of a surprise really, just very, very graphic.

You assume that some justice must sway around eventually. One of the Starks must triumph eventually, in some way, you hope. But then again, maybe not.

No real surprise. The key protagonists are quite clearly Bran, Arya, and Jon - getting rid of the others just takes away their potential support network, isolating them further

The Starks are being stripped all of that the 'modern' westerosi society has given them by the Old Gods in order to prepare them to rise again as the true leaders in the only fight that matters. It's not done yet.

I really need to catch up on this series. I have been delayed by the wife deciding she can't be bothered to watch it, so I am now just going to watch it by myself.

I gave up trying to watch tv with partners years ago. They either lose interest, fall asleep, or don't get it because they don't pay attention and then can't work out what's going on.

The rapido belly stab was surprising and new. When I read the books I think I visualised that entire scene in bullet time. Especially with Great John flipping tables and diving into Robb like some kind of bodyguard. (Or whatever he did).

That was unbelievable. I don't think I've ever been so affected by a tv show, when it all kicked off at first I was just sitting in shock with my hands over my mouth. It was so brutal and unexpected and harsh. Agree about the acting, Catelyn was incredible. Poor Arya. My chest still feels like its getting tight when I think about that scene and the implications again, holy moly. I can't believe they stabbed her belly...that was intense...and then the throat slitting and Rob holding his wife's stomach :(

Really powerful stuff and a sign of how good it was when Danerys featured quite a lot in that episode and none of us are even talking about her.

My girlfriend has currently proclaimed she is never watching GoT again. Of course she said this after S1E9 too....

People losing their shit on Twitter about the red wedding should never watch Buffy because Joss Whedon's casual, repeated slaughter of beloved cast regulars would knock them stone dead.
