I was taking the piss out of DavPaz, the whiny little bitch.

I had watched up to episode 4 a couple of weeks ago, as I had access to evaluation streams of the leaked episodes. It should have been obvious I'd seen the episode as I was commenting on things that happened in it.

I don't know about anyone else here but I FUCKING LURVE Game of Thrones (I've read the books, dontchaknow) so why is the latest season a big bag of tripe. I'm loving it, of course, but it has lost most of the gritty feeling and atmosphere that it once had for me. I want fights handled in the same way as Ed Stark vs. Jaime Lannister fight: Completely unfair and someone gets poked nastily. So why am I treated to the Unsullied and Barristan having a fight that wouldn't look out of place in a Errol Flint film? How come I'm treated to a terrible Stone Man fight? Where's the big guy squeezing someone's head until it pops? I don't know, it's all gone a bit, erm, like a film maybe? Something just isn't clicking with me at all. I might have to watch the last one again to see whether I can figure out what these feelings are that are making me a bit mardy about the direction that it is currently going in. I'll tell you who would catch the brunt of that ill feeling though: Brienne. You just watch the scene with the inn keeper and tell me that she isn't a terrible actress. Hmmmm?

This series certainly isn't gripping me as much as the previous ones have. It's still good TV by any metric but it's not great by GoT standards.

Er hasn't pretty much every season had a bit of a lull in the middle where they are moving the pieces around and setting stuff up for MAJOR EVENTS later on in the series.

None of the seasons have been all out constant action. It is a meandering show, and I really like that about it.

I'm finding the show pretty dull this season, which is odd, as a lot of it is new material to me! I'd like the show to be more than 10 episodes per season, to properly give each storyline enough time. (I've wanted that from season 1). But we only have 10.

So why do they waste screen-time with useless crap e.g. Grey Worm falling in love with Missandei?

I thought the Stone Men bit looked like a bit of an afterthought, but was needed to give Beard Outcast a poorlies. Bolton continues to be superbly creepy. Sansa is getting a bit better, too. Arya and Jon are the best bits. The necromancy bit at the end of the other week was a bit shit.

It was well set up with Stannis talking about his daughter last week, though. Also Stannis knows how to halt the progress of the disease... I wonder if that means Ser Friendzone will need to choose between the cure and his Khaleesi.

I have just passed this news on to Chloe. She is now very interesting in visiting you, and maybe going for a drink in your local pub, but she doesn't mind if you don't fancy that bit, she'll go alone.

Heh. Considering the nomadic lifestyle most successful actors lead, it could be a total crapshoot catching him in there. i know his address as my friend's wife was the estate agent who sold the house he bought. It might be better camping outside that ;)

GREAT EPISODE!

Also, that will become famous for contrasting one of the better actin scenes this season with one of the worst.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Theon continues to be fantastic.
The desert rats are terrible.

Mind you, other than the dreadfully choreographed fight scene (AGAIN. Jesus Christ, someone needs sacking) everyone was on top form.

I was really expecting Theon would do something to Ramsey right at the end of episode. He's surely going to crack at some point?

I think they're setting it up for him to finally crack and do something nuts against his master. Probably in episode 9 where all the good stuff happens each season before the disappointing last episode where we moan that all it does is set up the next season. The problem with Theon though is that the dog bites its master is so obvious. I want them to blow my mind with Theon's story since the actor is clearly very capable.

That was a very uncomfortable final scene. Urrrgh. All of these awful things really need to culminate in the bad guys just dying really horribly at some point

Someone taught sansa a tiny bit about how to act, clearly, as for once she wasn't visibly confused about where she was and why people in funny costumes were talking to her.

that scene was chilling and horrifying. I'm sure she has some merit in that

But that Lily Allen brother, he surely is an amazing actor.

Great for little finger that had the best quote of the episode:

It had a couple of moments but overall I think it's all gone a bit shit and boring. Certainly haven't been left desperately wanting more at the end of each episode like in earlier seasons. Obviously I can see that they are setting up various pay-offs but it'll have to get really good to redeem itself after a mostly forgettable first half of the season.
