From what I can gather, the more 'special' monsters you kill in a round is more likely to unlock a new class. I have unlocked Warrior, Paladin, Priest and Barbarian, but I like Warrior the best so far.

And contrary to what zaphod says, I unlocked the new classes whilst not playing as Adventurer (apart from the first time).

I think thats the way it originally was , and it still mentions it in the instructions but your right - I've unlocked other classes when playing as something other than the adventurer ..... and I've just gone to check and its now removed from the instructions :-) (it was updated again yesterday)

Does Craig still post here btw?

anyway, Puckerz is a bit good. It was a Free App Hero recommendation but it's basically Peggle meets Pool sort of. Recent update added a fair bit of functionality as well.

Despite being anti-random in gaming, I really liked Puckerz as well. The game's suitably noisy and there's at least some skill involved (unlike in Peggle, which just irritated me with its randomness).

Bejeweled 2 and Peggle are both down to 59p each today (also Peggle Nights, which is an in-app purchase in Peggle)

Hmmm... I don't know, Romanista - that's odd :S I wonder if it's because (ages ago now) I used an old bank card he owed me a few pounds from to buy iPod stuffs? That was well over a month ago now, though, but looking just now I hadn't changed it back. I've just re-put my own card in there (missed a trick there... could at least have bought some stuff first :p ) so see if it's changed back? I can't think what else it could be, really.

That's good to hear. It's a bit of a strange one that - it using your credit/debit card name. Doesn't seem to allow for that much privacy :/ I guess it auto-fills it, but it would be nice to be a little less explicit as to the full name.

For those that are interested, you can now get an iPad version of the board game Ticket To Ride, which I'm sure I've heard some of you mention on here before. I haven't played it myself, so I don't know what it's like, but apparently it suffers from having no multiplayer on a single device. You either play against the AI, or you play against human opponents on their own devices online. Which is a bit silly. But still, it's £3.99 if you want it.

Ticket to ride is a lovely port, despite the bizarre hot seat omission. Recommended.

Huge-o recommendation for Mr. Ninja!! from the makers of The great Mr . Aaaaah! and the rubbish Mr. Space! its a one button game where you jump from rotating disk to rotating disk using your samari sword to kill the monsters that sits in arcs between the spheres. It is polished and beautiful and controls wonderfully and I bought it on a whim this morning for 59p and it has obsessed me all day. It gives that woulderful whoosh of kinetic feedback that comes with the best games when you flow with them. Perfect example of why I love this platform.

It's as though nintendo made one of the unlockable games they stick at the end of wariowares but put it on the AppStore instead. But better than that.

Pimp-o-thing: The new issue of Tap! magazine (#5) just plopped through my letterbox. It's a gaming special, so might interest some people here. (Expect it in shops later this week; the cover has a load of iOS games characters on the cover.)

I'm currently enjoying Speedball 2 Evolution and Great Little War Game, though S2's leagues are far, far too easy (as the recent score of 364 - 2 against my title rivals would indicate).

Pity (although not at all surprising) it's iPad 2-only, though. Still, I guess that solves the 'Apple TV apps' conundrum. I bet the next iPhone does this, too, with games and apps. And then there are Bluetooth controllers that could always be added into the mix.

ObamaPacman (who are a terrible site, but might be on to something here) did frame counting on a Youtube video and claim that it shows 200-300ms latency, which is awful -- worse than GTA IV on Xbox 360. Firemint seem to be quite confident though, based on their claim they'll be supporting this out of the box. I remain sceptical until I've seen it happen. Cramming 1080p (yes, they claim 1080p!) down a Wifi link is not trivial.

I just completed the campaign on Great Little War Game.

It was fun, though some of the later levels were not as difficult as they should have been, due to boneheaded enemy AI.

Still, it were reet cheap, so I think I will purchase the add-on missions, as long as they're not too expensive.

If the lag is that bad, then that puts it at the NFS Shift 2 levels before the patch, which was basically unplayable for a driving game.

Zynga have decided to bring out more games instead of trying to fix the ones they already have so "Hanging with friends" is now available.

Its basically Hangman with a few additions using bits of WWF , and as typical for Zynga it has plenty of bugs - but if anyone wants a game I'm "Zaphod 79" (with a space between the e and the 7)

Well I got three play-throughs out of Game Dev Story.

First was a bit messy and never really made masses of cash or sold lots of games, didn't get into the new platforms quick enough, didn't get Hall of Fame games until too late on etc.

Second I realised too late I could get a hardware engineer so didn't get a console out until Y18, although still finished with a fortune.

Third I was totally ruthless, had a console of my own out by Y10 (albeit a 32-bit one), then got the uber-duber console out, and mercilessly chucked out sequels. Hit Y20 with over two billion dollars, the best staff rota going, very generous market share etc. (Even on the second play-through I was too reluctant to fire staff.)

Great game, has its flaws but for 59p (I got it on some sort of special sale weekend) I'm hugely impressed, although I've never play it again now.

Hot Springs Story seems to be a bit shit though.

I don't know... I'd say English was a better language for word games in that case, as you can't just make up words :P Not that this would stop my gran when she'd play scrabble. Or throughsilver, for that matter...

Street Fighter IV Volt is out. 59p today and rises by another 59p until it costs £5.99 so jump on it today I would say.

The previous version is my all time favourite version of SF. So a version with 3 more people and online multiplayer seems ideal. HAven't played it yet mind.
