You can't do that, you're a scientist. You're supposed to submit a slightly bitchy paper to The Royal Journal of IOS Puzzle Games, make a few subtly bitter comments at your next speech then secretly dedicate the rest of your life to destroying my score.

2048 is to Threes! as draughts is to chess

Except it's also a lot, lot more fun.

I completed 2048 on my first go with the most basic of threes! strategies. Get threes!

on the bleeding edge as usual, I've rediscovered Jetpack Joyride following its (no doubt aged) update. I've been diligently swooping around grabbing coins and gems in order to buy new gadgets like a fairly useless robot dog and nerd repellent.

In doing so, I noticed someone familiar lurking on the lab's walls.

Little Inferno HD: I utterly love it.

LOVE that it's so simple; it's perfect phone fodder.

LOVE that it's more than just burning stuff (dunno why I thought it was just a stupid distraction game until I accidentally watched a trailer earlier).

LOVE that there's a story - half miserable dark world where kids have to burn their toys for warmth; half love story. Kinda.

downloaded it.. liked the concept, but gives not enough feedback on what you did, and what you should do.. Eg. to started with an elf, but i knew a different picture of someone wearing a similar had.. typed that in, but didn't know if i should pres confirm? or that i made a mistake? it should do far more scaffolding/onboarding..

Wario clone Dumb Ways to Die is back!

Dumb Ways to Die 2 is available by clicking this link perhaps? https://appsto.re/gb/5olz3.i That link doesn't look right but I didn't make it up. Came out my phone, init.

Do you want to play it though? It's exactly like Dumb Ways to Die but bettererer. More games (WAY more than the paucity on offer before), more cool animations, more amusing deaths. No. Downside. Whatsoever.

Cept the adverts...

But forget that cause it's FREE! Free? FREE! Free? Yes. It is. What? Free. So why aren't you downloading it? Don't you like them Warioware games? Puh. I spit on you. Warioware is ace you fools. I've still got it on the GBA. My fav was the game with the Yoshi-alike where you could only shoot your tongue out in diagonals. Bloody ace that. Oh, and the skateboard one. Loved the music on that one. I didn't actually care for the main game thinking about it. So Warioware then: crap. Hated it. Cept the bits I liked.

Related note: the DS Warioware game is also awesome and plays perfectly on a phone or tablet because it was designed for a touchscreen. Assuming you can get an emulator and the ROM on your device of course; which is trivial on Android but I don't know of the current state of play on iOS.

This is not a surprise if you've paid attention to any EA mobile game from the last two years. Real Racing 3 and Dungeon Keeper are essentially broken unless you pay.

It's also not entirely true, because you get fuel for free (basically it's the wait or pay model that's used all over the place).

Still, it's amusing in a game called No Limits, I suppose :)

They are broken if you pay as well. I'm sure there was an eurogamer article about dungeon keeper, where even if you pay £10 the money is used up in seconds to be back exactly where you started.

Playing a game where you're never quite sure if you're not being good enough, or that you've reached an artificial ceiling in order to squeeze money out of you doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Agreed, it's why I've drifted back to portables like the Vita and 3DS and now just play the cream of iOS (80 days at the minute).

Hilariously, EA gave me the full console need for speed for my vita for free about a month ago.

DISAGREE. Time is generally not used as a discrete measurement.

You wouldn't say "I'm going to the shops, I'll be fewer than ten minutes". You're saying less than this defined block of time, not fewer than this amount of discrete blocks of time.

It's a grey area and definitely worthy of discussion. While I would agree with something like minutes or seconds, you always talk about days in discrete blocks - you wouldn't say, "I went round the world in 37.43 days." So fewer is valid here, IMO.

I would personally use "under 40 days" in order to sidestep the whole issue.
