Not that I think knowledge of Kelis specifically would change your life or anything, but it's a pretty odd attitude to want to continue not knowing about something you know nothing about. How can you reasonably make that judgement without the knowledge to decide whether it's desirable or not? It's almost like you're being a moaning curmudgeon just for the sake of being a moaning curmudgeon...

Flick Kick Football Legends

On the face of it this should be delightful. A blending of the satisfying virtual tactility of Flick Kick Football, the gameplay of New Star Soccer and the card-collecting of Marvel Pummel Horses. It even has a pleasingly deranged storyline. And it looks the business.

BUT.

It's free. I'm not allowed to pay for it. And it wants your money. Badly. The palm-presses for your cash begin quietly enough, but after a certain number of games it seems to take every opportunity to whip your trousers down, from half-time ad breaks to post-match run ins with in-game characters asking you for money or likes on Facebook.

And it falls on the side of you feeling cheated by the very presence of IAPs. You're presented with unwinnable plays in some games, and too often you're left feeling like it's already been decided if you're going to win or lose, before you even take your kick. Which is pretty unforgiveable in a 'skill' game.

But I shall persist. I have given them no money yet, even though performing more advanced actions is going to take forever given the paltry in-game cash you're given (25 for winning the first league - and you need 500 to fuse two identical cards together to build a stronger card).

Still, if you like this kind of thing:

You can't do that, you're a scientist. You're supposed to submit a slightly bitchy paper to The Royal Journal of IOS Puzzle Games, make a few subtly bitter comments at your next speech then secretly dedicate the rest of your life to destroying my score.

on the bleeding edge as usual, I've rediscovered Jetpack Joyride following its (no doubt aged) update. I've been diligently swooping around grabbing coins and gems in order to buy new gadgets like a fairly useless robot dog and nerd repellent.

In doing so, I noticed someone familiar lurking on the lab's walls.

Little Inferno HD: I utterly love it.

LOVE that it's so simple; it's perfect phone fodder.

LOVE that it's more than just burning stuff (dunno why I thought it was just a stupid distraction game until I accidentally watched a trailer earlier).

LOVE that there's a story - half miserable dark world where kids have to burn their toys for warmth; half love story. Kinda.

downloaded it.. liked the concept, but gives not enough feedback on what you did, and what you should do.. Eg. to started with an elf, but i knew a different picture of someone wearing a similar had.. typed that in, but didn't know if i should pres confirm? or that i made a mistake? it should do far more scaffolding/onboarding..

Wario clone Dumb Ways to Die is back!

Dumb Ways to Die 2 is available by clicking this link perhaps? https://appsto.re/gb/5olz3.i That link doesn't look right but I didn't make it up. Came out my phone, init.

Do you want to play it though? It's exactly like Dumb Ways to Die but bettererer. More games (WAY more than the paucity on offer before), more cool animations, more amusing deaths. No. Downside. Whatsoever.

Cept the adverts...

But forget that cause it's FREE! Free? FREE! Free? Yes. It is. What? Free. So why aren't you downloading it? Don't you like them Warioware games? Puh. I spit on you. Warioware is ace you fools. I've still got it on the GBA. My fav was the game with the Yoshi-alike where you could only shoot your tongue out in diagonals. Bloody ace that. Oh, and the skateboard one. Loved the music on that one. I didn't actually care for the main game thinking about it. So Warioware then: crap. Hated it. Cept the bits I liked.

Post subject:  Re: iOS gaming thread

Related note: the DS Warioware game is also awesome and plays perfectly on a phone or tablet because it was designed for a touchscreen. Assuming you can get an emulator and the ROM on your device of course; which is trivial on Android but I don't know of the current state of play on iOS.
