I'd seen people mention it here and there but the whole phenomenon has passed me by. Now I'll never be able to be a jelly hater.

I played it over the weekend and while it is rubbish, I can see the "just one more go" appeal of it.

That's a nicely written article too.

Yeah, I can see no reason to hate it other than that it was popular.

Quite a good piece - there are also a lot more more click-bait type ones which go on about people issuing death threats before and after he decided to pull it (and also threats of people committing suicide if he does)

That people felt they were entitled to demand stuff from the programmer of their free game. It's weird, like the programmer should feel privileged that they're playing it.

I mean, he/she should, but that doesn't really entitle anyone to start making demands. I've seen it over and over and over again. At first I thought people demanding changes was caused by a language barrier (and sometimes it was - folk without a good grasp on English might write a list of demands but instead mean it respectfully as a set of requests), but I came to the conclusion that it really wasn't.

Hell, it's happened here before now.

-edit- I think that particular one is a joke considering the epetition attached, but there has been a lot of bile spouted online towards him.

But unless he goes looking for that stuff it shouldn't find him?

If he's removed reasonable attempts to contact him then it becomes only the die hard idiots who will try it, and then he can block people bit by bit?

Hard to say without knowledge of the volume of messages he's personally seen.

Considering how much money it was making him, it was probably wasn't a decision he took lightly.

Being from Vietnam probably doesn't help either, with it being a socialist country where personal wealth is frowned upon. I expect he'll have to hire private security to look after him now.

He mentioned how his 'simple life' is now ruined. I strongly suspect that to be true.

All I want is the image width increased to 1024, is that too much to ask. I'll stop the death threats, I promise.

It's so cute.

I also love the noises they all make, and the faces that appear on the numbers, and that they looks towards each other when they can make a match, and the music is ace and you hum along to it even after the game ends.

YES!

I'm trying to get out of the mindset of thinking that £1.49 is expensive for a game. It really isn't, but I've been conditioned to think so over the last few years.

Keep going at it and you'll get there. On my charity shop runs, I've got my threshold up to £2 for something in mint condition.

Same here, I thought twice before buying it. Even though I have about £40 worth of credit from vouchers that i'm never going to use unless I actually buy games.

I think we must have over £100 in credit in the form of vouchers since Christmas. Most of them are from the same person. That person owns an iPhone, so either they really spend a lot on their own (which seems doubtful) or they think that we do.

Before that I had about ten games in a row getting 3450 or so. Had all the pieces for the 384, but couldn't get them together. It's all so easy now until trying to get that damn 384.

I thought that. Not sure if pulling it from the store invalidates the provisioning profile though.

To be fair, the scores are largely quantised by the highest scoring tile.

20k is only one big tile more than 7k, and anyone else who gets that 20k tile will beat my score, as I literally just has peanuts on the screen other than the biggie.

Ridiculous Fishing is up for a Bafta. That's the one I was telling you about at the cottage, where you fish with increasingly unlikely hook appendages (toaster, chainsaw, dynamite in combo, loads of others) then haul up as many fish as you can, chuck them in the air and then shoot them out if the sky with increasingly high spec guns.

Then at some point in the game play is one if the best things ever written in a game. Brought a rear of sadness to my eye. Then ELECTROCUTE AND CHAINSAW THE FISH SOME MORE AND PEW PEW PEW BRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!

Anyway, Ridiculous Fishing is my favourite game ever on iOS. You should get it.
