A friend passed on a link to the charitable Humble Bundle:

  • Get Trine, Shadowgrounds, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, (pre-order) Splot and a prototype called Jack Claw
  • Pay whatever you like (via PayPal, Amazon or Google)
  • Split it how you like (between the host, developer, EFF and Childs Play)
  • Direct download, torrent, Steam, OnLive, Desura
  • Windows, Linux, Mac compatible
  • No DRM, copy and install as often as you like

I don't have any idea what any of the games are like and don't game on PC any more but chucked them $20 anyway, and figured since it's for charideee I should pass it on.

Looks like the offer's on til the 26th-ish.

Note they are available for Mac as well, and all games will activate on Steam and OnLive as well as being available for individual download. Also note that when I bought the second Humble Indie Bundle (this is the third), I randomly received a bonus copy of the first one too a few weeks later.

I posted this in the bargains thread, but nobody goes in there anymore :D

It was also the reason for my denouncement of Steam on OSX being unmitigated shite....

I think I purchased the last 2 they had & have not played all the games from those yet.
I'll pass on this one.

Oh. Did you edit that, or do I fail at reading? I'm full of cold and my attention is a bit wandery.

You failed at reading, I'm afraid.

Lists are actually a pain in the arse to read though; I only used one because it seemed like it'd be quicker than smashing my face against the keyboard until coherent sentences came out.

I think the current Bundle is specifically for Bamba.

Heh, I've just come from looking at that and I think I've played all but two of them. I say 'think' because it's pretty hard to tell from just the screenshot and I often struggle to work out which ones I've actually played before.

It's ok, The CoD thread is only on the second page, he hasn't been gone long.

Anyone know if any of the games in the Mobile Warhammer bundle are any good?

Just bought that on the basis of Warhammer Quest and Space Wolf, hmmm, turn based. For four dollars you can't really argue.

...They've added the original Chainsaw Warrior game (the sequel was already in the bundle) to the "pay more than the average" option if that sweetens the deal.

The Humble guys are doing a new thing: Humble Monthly. You sign up for a $12 sub and get access to a, "highly curated bundle of our favourite games" every month. It's interesting to see them adopt the PS+ model and I imagine they've got the clout to get some really good stuff but it'll stand or fall by it's selection of course. I think it's a good idea but I won't be signing up for the same reason I don't have a PS+ sub which is that I've already got too many games to play and don't need another vector for collecting them.

At this point I just use PS+ for online gaming, as the selection is pretty sparse these days. I might even stop adding them to my account if I'm not interested in them as they're just piling up unplayed.

I think they may well go all out on the first one so its probably worth looking at what they publicly say closer to the time and then perhaps take a punt on it

The main issue i can see is if they stick with their normal game types then I (and a lot of other people) will already have them and paying $12 a month for some keys for stuff I already have is not a good deal.

I only ever added stuff I was interested in as I never saw the point of doing otherwise but as I only had it for like four months all in I wasn't ever in danger of drowning in games. I think this month is the first time since I've bought a PS4 that there wasn't any games I wanted; and even at that it's only because I've already got Broken Age for the PC.
