I'm on my own tonight so I'm watching the start of series 5, on the house TV, which after watching the last 84 episodes on my PSP looks really odd!
But anyway, I'm surprised I've only just noticed that HIMYM is Scrubs.
Ted is JD, Robin is Elliot, Lily and Marshall are Turk and Carla, and Barney is Dr Cox. It's narrated by the lead, Ted and Robin have an on/off relationship, and they both have Sarah Chalke in (who, much as I love her, isn't ageing well).

I hope they don't drag it out too long. It's nice to have an overarching story in a sitcom (the only other one I can think of is Red Dwarf) but they're already running a bit thin on excuses.
