SIGNIFICANT objection.

:this:

I can point to some fairly substantial bag deposits near me now.

The squiggle bag is very nice though - I know someone who'd like that but I've just bought her one with owlz.

I sympathise, there are bags and fucking scarves hung from what feels like every possible outcropping in our flat. There have been times after I've struggled to open a door due to all the shit hanging from the handle that I've just unhooked the lot and dumped it in the middle of the room in a vain attempt to make a point. Later it's all just hung right back where it was. Fuck sake.

We have a hat drawer. A big drawer at that.
We also have a glove and scarf hanger. A big hanger at that.
Now I have installed a second set of hooks just for bags.

We can finally get in through our front door again.

No, I think if Russell wants to prove his point that I have "too many' shoes, bags, hats and scarves he should buy me more to just push the point, right?

Is joans a lady?

I have quite a few pairs of shoes, boots and trainers to be fair. The new Mrs Kov like shoes and bags too.

Is the plumbing for a dishwasher similar to that of a washing machine? Hot/cold inlet + waste?

Impromptu unexpected DIY as the cistern of the downstairs toilet came away from the wall. The numpty that first installed it seemed to think that galvanised screws were a luxury too far. Rusted completely through. All fixed now

In preparation for my week off this week, and in the optimistic hope that we may actually have some sunshine, I decided to do a bit of gardening. I don't like gardening, and now I like it even less. A couple of weekends and evenings weeding, raking, digging out concrete, paving slabs and laying Terram over all the existing shitty white spar gravel and now I have a lovely looking garden. Everything was riddled with rocks, bricks, and masses of tree roots. It was absolute back-breaking hell for hours and hours...

Attachment:
Gardenbefore.JPG

I say gardening, it was more like 'gravelling'. I did buy some plants though, which I carefully researched and picked based on... fuck it, I chose the ones that were cheap, pretty/had a cool name. I've put a load of grass seed on the top part that is soil in the photo, I don't like grass because it requires maintaining but by the time it's grown enough to need mowing, I'll have hopefully moved out! I also got some garden furniture, but that's not in the photo as it had spent all day raining.

Attachment:
Gardenafter.JPG

Decorative gravel is quite expensive, like, £150/tonne expensive. Which is still better than £6 for a 25kg bag in B&Q 8) I needed at least 2 tonne so I just got some regular, locally quarried limestone chippings, which were £18/t :D We borrowed a 7.5t tipper from work and loaded 3.4t on because it's always better to have too much than not enough! That was the idea, anyway. Until we had to move all 3.4t in buckets, through the house, into the back garden

The weather has been pretty good this week so we've been able to sit outside and have a few drinks. Although I then spent Monday at work, scrounging enough timber to make a power rack. Mr. flis did all the cutting and drilling the holes, and I spent most of the rest of week in the garage sanding, painting and putting it together.

Now we need to buy a bar and some weights and we'll be ready to pick heavy shit up and put it back down again :)

Ludicrous car is earning its keep - today it's been to one tip 3 times and a more distnat one twice after I got told off for dumping plasterboard at the first one.

Broken tiles are awesome at taking massive pieces of hands out in an "optimal blood loss" fashion, aren't they?

There's a path that runs along the back of my garden to provide access to a neighbour's garden, then on the far side of that I've got a strip of land, just over five foot deep at the shallow end and about 18 feet. The right hand end has a couple of trees on it, but the left side will soon be clear once I take the junk to the tip, so I'm trying to work out if that's big enough for a useful garden retreat. I'm thinking some kind of cabin on stilts design at the mo, and would attempt to construct from scratch rather than buy a pre-built kit.

This could go badly wrong.

The hole in my hand has stopped bleeding. Part of me wishes it was still bleeding, so I couldn't see it.

Also, you just know that I'm not going to need a dump until 5 minutes after the indian restaurant round the corner closes for the night. I'm pretty sure the Tesco isn't 24 hour either.

BUT THEN WHAT.

Number 1 is sorted, they taped a placky bag over the shitter hole but not the bath hole, so into a jug then carefully poured away. Apparently evenly massively dehydrated and only needing to go enough to bother testing, my bladder holds a litre. MAN cutting off (or restarting into a much smaller target than you're used) mid-stream doesn't ever get easier does it?

It seems that yesterday I may have drunk more than I had thought.

New bathroom is here! Old bathroom is all gone*!

Putting the former in the latter is paused while some steel rods are epoxied in to try and stop the somewhat concerning "exterior wall moving away from interior wall" state of affairs that has been uncovered!

* Plasterboard is a tosser and I want nothing more to do with it.

Nice work. I massacred the back hedge this morning in an attempt to make it tidier. I seem to have just cut a hole in it.

What's up with it? If it isn't heating up any more then most likely the element has blown. It's piss easy to replace.

Fan has gone. And as it isn't made for fanless operation, it can kill the element rather speedily.

And as there don't seem to be any straight replacement parts, I have to hope that the generic unit will work.

Aw, that feels like a really sincere and personal post Grim... And I think I'd have liked to have known younger Grim.., too, he sounds quite sweet and at some times a bit lost, and it's kind of heartwarming to know that you've felt that way before finding your footing.
