I think cold, tired, possibly a wee bit hungover, but mostly because the last few days I have been places like Morecambe to stock up the freezer, and up to the Post Office with boxes and a full trolley, etc and perhaps overdone what I've been trying to move around. My neck/shoulders/arms,legs/back all ache. I can't get comfortable, which is the main problem. It hurts when I stand, I ache when I sit down, keep wincing when I try to do anything physical.

That doesn't sound like it was Wise.

Thank you, thank you.

I also do birthdays.

Also, Davpaz - that sounds like a punchable offence, to be honest.

Oh, I'm fine. Been an odd day. The boss seemed to make a very deliberate effort to say 'good morning' to me when I got in, but he hasn't spoken to me at all other than that. I've finished the latest draft of the installation guide I've been working on earlier than planned after being told that a whole swathe of it that I was yet to write would no longer be needed. Also, the person I need to speak to for another ongoing project I have is at lunch at the moment, hence me typing this here in an effort to appear busy.

All the same, I'm very much looking forward to going home tonight.

Bzzt, repetition. Same capitalisation, too, and I only got 132 bananas for it.

Same here! Feel like I've been in a fight.

Try a hot bath. Monkey could share it, then that could be advent day #3 :)

I did pick up some Radox herbal bath whilst I was out, and my iPod is charging (it has a little lego speaker attached, so I can listen to Audiobooks in the bath). I also like to light some tealights around the bath. The only thing I am missing is some wine, bit that's probably for the best, really.

So.

Twenty minutes ago, the boss told me he wanted a chat. And there I was thinking I'd got away with it.

So we've just had our chat. Where he told me he went through all my files last night and thinks the work I'm doing is really good, exactly what he's looking for and that it was clear I take a lot of pride in what I do.

I wasn't expecting that.

He kept repeatedly asking me if I was happy here. I didn't really know what to say, other than that I'd been slightly concerned I was in trouble after yesterday, but he breezed over all that as a kind of mild training issue but nothing to really worry about. He told me it was clear I'd also been making an effort to sort out my timekeeping, which again seems utterly bizarre to me as I can't remember the last time I arrived any later than about 5 mins before the start of my shift, but there you go. He even told me a little bit about the bonus scheme they have here, which I won't qualify for till next Christmas, so I guess that means I'm not about to get the sack.

Bizarre.

Well, anyway, my heart no longer feels like it's about to pop out of my chest, so hopefully I can relax and try and enjoy the weekend.

I'm still going to keep looking for something else though.

Fantastic stuff, Zio! I'm genuinely pleased it's turned out okay and you're not getting booted out or anything. I know what it can be like worrying and waiting to find out what's going on.

However - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

Ha.

Well at least you won't have it hanging over you. But remember, if he asks you if everything is ok and you are happy, if you don't be honest with him it will never change. It might not be something he even realises he is doing if he is used to managing teenagers. (Not defending his actions against you of course)

Now, what do we have to do to get the 80s references to stop?

MrsA just removed and packed away eight candles, hardly used, and replaced them with eight seemingly identical ones as they "look more christmassy". I do not understand the need for so many. We have electric lights.

No, I understand cushions. Cushions are brilliant. Not only can you put them in a big pile on the floor and, together with a blanket, make a nest from within which to watch television, you can also make forts out of them.

Crikey, yes. There are four on the bed which, every night, I dump on the floor. They are serving no purpose whatsoever as nobody goes into our bedroom except us and they are not very comfy, either. And she jeeps buying pillows.

Oooh, I LOVE cardboard boxes. Whenever we get cardboard boxes, I like to sit in them for a while. I had one with a face space until yesterday. Sometimes i wear it, with just my face showing through the specially cut face space.

the box that my armchair came in was the best. i sat in that for hours.

haha. Once, my mother was getting a new fridge freezer delivered whilst she was at work, so I went to her house to let the delivery guys in. i sad I'd then post the spare keys through the letter box.

So, when they delivered it, they moved it and set it up, but left the giant 6 ft tall box.

I locked the door from the inside, put the keys on the floor as if they'd been pushed through the latter box, and then, naturally, stood under the box.

I waited for my mother to return. heard her bustling around, come into kitchen, make a cup of tea, look in cupboards. Finally I hear her pull out a kitchen chair and sit at the table, and I can hear the pages of the newspaper. She is doing the crossword.

3 or 4 minutes later RAAARGHHHHH giant jumping box.

I think I almost killed her.

Boxes, eh?!

This is the cutest, maddest thing ever

When I worked at Canterbury, I used to play very minor, probably very annoying pranks on the accounting bloke upstairs when bored. Taking the ink out of his pen, emptying his stapler, that kind of thing. Then, one day, we were left with a massive box, maybe 5 and a half feet high, that we didn't need.

Naturally, I took the empty box, struggling and panting, up to his office, and put it in the corner, explaining that sorry, we're out of space in the storage, it'll be gone by tomorrow, hope it's not a problem, etc.

Then when he was on a break, snuck back upstairs, climbed inside it, and waited, stifling sniggles.

No, I understand cushions. Cushions are brilliant. Not only can you put them in a big pile on the floor and, together with a blanket, make a nest from within which to watch television, you can also make forts out of them.

In fairness to it, it unstuck itself almost instantly after I stopped recording, and did a fairly good job.
