Watched the second Sherlock, and while I liked it a lot more than the first, I'm starting to get sick of the ol' ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! |

The final episode of Sherlock was well edited, well acted and well scripted, and would have been some pretty awesome TV if it wasn't an episode of Sherlock. Seriously - what the fuck was all that about? They built a world for us in the first series and that episode shat all over it. |

I was genuinely gripped by the whole setup until ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! So, I agree. Loved watching it, but the endings are so poor. |

Kern with the winning joke! I have to concur. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit silly, and not really what I wanted. Though worth it just for: ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! |

Clearing out my DVR, I caught up with 'Cunk on Christmas'. I've always been a little bit uneasy about Ms Cunk's oeuvre, and wasn't sure that she could last half an hour, but I was pleasantly surprised with many laugh out loud lines, of which I've listed three of the most memorable: ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! Worth catching up with whilst your local still serves mulled wine (so, anytime before mid-March) |

No. He gave a someone ambiguous quote saying he didn't want to play Sherlock again but it would be unlikely we'd see it 'at the same regular cadence'. So, er, dunno. |

When people refer to America as "the colonies" the joke is because they are a global superpower, massively bigger and more important than we are. It's not "lording superiority", it's wryly acknowledging the opposite. |

Also, a quick search suggests he's used the word "colonies" 7 times since 2011. search.php?keywords=colonies&author=kern&sf=all&sc=1&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&style=26&submit=Search Alternative facts! Surprised I didn't catch it before then! Although, since the BBC 4 newsletter stopped I only tend to hear of good things if I remember to buy a paper on a Saturday or if it gets mentioned here. Should start using the Iplayer more. |

Has anyone been watching Hospital? It's a documentary focussing on the impossible decisions that are made on a daily basis in our hospitals. It's brilliant. It's riveting. It's fascinating. And it will make you fucking furious with what is being done to NHS. It will fill you with bottomless admiration for the people working under this pressure and, by and large, doing an amazing job. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b088rp75%20via%20@bbciplayer |

And I think the hardest parts for me to watch were some parts where you see Terry really struggle to find the words he wants (and getting frustrated by it) and then when both his daughter and one of his best friends break and start to sob |

I suspect I'm very late to the party here but police procedural No Offence is pretty fucking good: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Offence It's great to see Joanna Scanlan in a serious role, and I'm probably a bit biased because I'm slightly in love with Alexandra Roach, but it's solid and incredibly compelling stuff from the writer behind Cracker and Shameless. The second season doesn't quite stand up to the first but it's still very good stuff throughout with a good mixture of 'case of the week' plus constantly ongoing narrative. |
