Thanks you two. Just finished watching s5e9 and 10 now. Good mixture of psychedelic and action stuff. Love the slomo scenes in e9. |

Well credit where it's due, S05E14 is a bit of a barnstormer. Lots of zombie action, lots of stuff going on back at Alexandria - setting things up for an exciting close to the season. ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! Lost momentum a bit for me the last couple of episodes, but this one was great. |

Yeah, reading it again it seems to be spoiler free. Probably. If you don't like spoilers then don't chance it. Although I'm fairly sure there's no spoiler. Fairly. If there's a spoiler it's only because it's hinting at something that might happen. Maybe. |

I dunno, the pack attacking the barn looked to be in fairly frisky shape, and some of them were properly rotten right out of the gates in the first episode. In fact, remember the first zombie that Rick came across after getting out of the hospital, that one out in the park, that looked in pretty bad shape just a couple of weeks after the outbreak. Here it is. And yet we have zombies 540+ days down the line that look exactly the same, or in many cases far healthier, than that one does. You can see the fascinating aging of the zombies over the course of the series here. Well it took me about three minutes to find this zombie in an episode in Season 2, which looks considerably different to the example given there. (Equally, I'm sure I could find much 'fresher' zombies in further Seasons but I don't have those as AVIs and Netlfix USA craps out horribly if you try and skip around the timeline on episodes.) Plus, if they really are going for the 'real life decomposition' angle then they're back to the original problems of what the hell happens to the zombies in the extremities of weather? Seriously, not one single zombie would last beyond the first winter. I don't mind anyway, as long as they make the episodes worth watching in and of themselves (as Season 5 has been recently) then it's all good. Attachment: season222.jpg Attachment: season2_2.JPG

E15 - Good episode. I'm liking the odd-couple relationship between Darryl and Aaron. Michonne is doing well as a character. However, Rick and the beaten wife lady is all a bit overdone, and the thing with Carl and the girl is sub-Dawson's bollocks. |

Post subject: | Re: The Walking Dead |
And an Episode 15 update from myself. Seemed like a bit of a placeholder in some regards, setting stuff up more than moving things on, until it all kicked off a bit in the last few minutes (when I must say it became quite gripping). Other stuff - maybe Darryl is gay? He seems to get on better with Aaron than anyone else, and it'd be a nice little twist. Rick and the wife lady seems to be extracting a bit too much out of not enough, but it's certainly moving things on, almost to the extent of just being a plot device really. No real interest in Carl and his new friend, or indeed the whole Sasha situation. ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! |

Continued to be good last night ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! I used to get to a point with this show, where it became so tense and sometimes depressing that I would save up the episodes until my wife put her foot down and had us watch it. At the moment its the first thing we watch as its really good at the moment. |

Well, the whole Rick part is kind of outrageous, as if killing was the most sensible choice when you suspect someone is being abusive with his wife. But that women is so lovely that i won't blame him. |

I'd call it a decent season finale. (Just finished watching it now.) It's set things up going into the next season on a fairly solid basis, and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out with the 'Wolves'. So yeah, a solid hour of telly but not amazing either - however it'll certainly hold my interest going into the next season. |

Post subject: | Re: The Walking Dead |
zombie muscles do not need oxygen to work. They do not produce lactic acid. Also, There is no feedback loop like in humans to say "keep doing this and damage will happen" (epipherine does switch this response off by degrees, interestingly). So, that is like human with the safety switches removed. Also, zombie had prime position after he caught Rick on the hop from behind |
Author: | Hearthly [ Tue Mar 31, 2015 9:45 ] |
Post subject: | Re: The Walking Dead |
So where do the zombies get that sort of physical strength from? They've seen fit to have them deteriorating on the outside as would be expected over the timeline of their existence (as per your earlier posts, although I'm not convinced they've been consistent about that), and yet all of a sudden one of them can pin Rick to the ground like an MMA champion? ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view! I say again, it was good telly and I enjoyed it and I'm not cussing it up or anything, but it wasn't ZOMG AMAZING either. |

in my experience of the Underground Dogfighting Pits of West Yorkshire, a 80 lb labrador is pretty determined and a pain to throw off one it lands on you. Fighting g a zombie would be worse. |

Post subject: | Re: The Walking Dead |
Presumably they get their strength from the same completely unexplained thing that allows them to be still walking around despite being dead. |
